Apologizes for skipping last week’s Top Legend Decks, but I was out on vacation!
When it comes to the meta, once again, it’s pretty stale. We’re seeing some experimentation, but that’s mostly because players are simply bored of the meta, not because the new decks are actually better than established Tier 1-2 ones. The last major change to the game was Hall of Fame rotation, as well as introduction of the new Basic/Classic cards. HoF rotation didn’t have any significant impact on the current meta (because neither Vanish, nor Mind Blast, despite being great cards, were particularly popular at the time). On top of that, new cards were designed rather safely – Brightwing is the only one that has seen a bit of play, but it’s more of an addition to the Dragon decks than a card that makes an archetype. I expect some of them to see a bit of play in the future, but they will likely never make a massive impact on the game.
Which means that you can expect a lot of the same decks we’ve seen already. Things won’t likely change until the next expansion’s launch, since Blizzard has stated that there will be no more balance updates and such until then. To be fair, you won’t have to wait that long – Saviors of Uldum drop in ~3 weeks from now. And for now, you can enjoy the card reveals and try to theorycraft! Of course, we’ll also get out theorycraft guides up before the expansion launches.
