Even warlock can start it’s pressure a bit earlier if run but idk if it’s even worth the spot. Still best of the 2 mana lackey cards I’ve seen sofar.

    2 Cents:

EVIL Genius.. Wow. When did Warlock ever lose its Zoo Archetype?

Rating cards such as this warrants us to first look at how Archetypes came out to be. Zoo Warlock is one of the decks that will never die due to the nature of Warlock’s hero powers, as well as the cost of minions in it, thus, we can confidently say that Zoo Warlocks are tried and tested, and can withstand the test of time.

Now the only question is, how good is EVIL Genius? Does it warrant a spot in any Warlock deck? The answer is, MAYBE. Maybe it will see play as long as cards that needs their deathrattle to be popped are present, and if tokens are easily produced without using a much resource. As we technically know, all Lackeys are good, they are excellent in terms of being such cool generated resource. But sacrificing a minion for the benefit? Totally worth it if the above conditions are met, else, it will still be decent since sacrificing 1 body to obtain 3 is good, just don’t sacrifice your high stat minions just for this.

An interaction with Voodoo Doll would also make sense right? Seems okay.

looking at a few of their coming cards, seems to me their wanting to push either deathrattle variant or sacrifice to power up your cards variant

Seems so, however, I am very disappointed with Fel Lord Betrug. I am a Warlock main, so seeing such awful legendary cards hurt. But then again, I’m used to it as well due to the fact that the last ever good legendary from Warlock is Lord Godfrey from Witchwood. So sad.

If you play this on an empty board with no friendly minion to destroy, do you still get the 2 lackeys ? If yes, it’s just an insane turn 2 play !

No, you don’t get 2 lackeys if you don’t destroy friendly minion

inb4 some sort of egg-like card that adds a bunch of lackeys to your hand so Zoolock becomes even more of a token deck

Well lock gets a different kind of egg deck where hunter hatches multiple monster lock seems to get consistent ways to consume its eggs. Overal this is a card in the right direction for the lock versions of the lackeys. If you can constantly make lackeys out of your card and getting 2 cards every time you play a card. That just makes your rafaam stuff more legendaries into your hand/ deck. So generating lackeys and than turning them into legendaryes is not a bad strat and can work with the locks card draws. But we still need some sort of good stated lackey generators for this to work and 2 mana for a 2/2 is a bit mediocle considering you have to lose a 1 minion for it to get any value. Droping this straight sway on turn 2 with or without 1 drop is not that great of a curve play.

Great with Scarab Egg, but the likelihood you’ll draw both of these cards early is way too low compared to the payoff. This needs more support (a replacement for Devilsaur Egg) before it sees play. 2/5

Accurate analysis, but I have a strong suspicion that it will get more support.

VERY powerful for Zoolock and Tempolock, but unsure for Controllock or Midrangelock. Needs Experimentation for that.

(Rating based on play it will see in the upcoming meta, similar to trump’s ratings)

    1 Star

Effect doesn’t seem good enough to justify destroying a minion.

Zoolock for life, baby. The Grim Rally Zoolock was already running Sanguine Reveler to pop Scarab Eggs. This is probably even better because you get a refill on Lackeys which are totally perfect for the deck.

EVIL Genius should be good in a Zoo Warlock deck that uses a bunch of token and/or egg cards. Otherwise, this probably won’t do a whole lot.

Seems like it could be okay in Zoo, particularly if you run Scarab Egg. Popping the egg on 2 with this and then playing a Lackey seems like it would be decent.

Objectively, the card is ok to very good, but it sucks subjectively because it is hard to get excited about tokens.
