Top Standard & Wild Legend Decks – Voyage to the Sunken City Week 2 – April 2022

Voyage to the Sunken City expansion has been out for almost 2 weeks now. While it was hyped at first, the meta has quickly devolved into mostly 2 classes – Pirate Warrior and Ramp Druid. Over the last few days, a third contender was added to the mix – Naga Aggro Demon Hunter. Right now those three make up for 2/3 of the meta in high Diamond – a little bit less in lower ranks and in Legend, but they are at or close to 50% throughout most of the ladder. As you can imagine, this kind of three decks meta isn’t particularly fun and many players are complaining.

Luckily, there’s a balance update coming on Tuesday and it nerfs both Warrior and Druid. The changes aren’t massive, but they should be enough to make them drop a few % of win rate (and that’s enough to keep them in check). However, one issue that arises is that the patch doesn’t hit Demon Hunter at all – devs are aware and they said that if the class performs too well after the update, they will hit it too. And while it’s too early to tell (without Ramp Druids being so popular, Control Warrior and Paladin might become more popular, and both of those have a good matchup vs Naga DH), I’m afraid that it might also need a nerf eventually, as it seems to outclass most of the aggressive builds.

And to be fair, if those three decks wouldn’t be so problematic, I think that the meta could be in an interesting spot, because there are some really cool decks. They’re just hidden behind all of the Druids, Warriors and Demon Hunters, which is a shame. And how do you like the early meta so far? What have you been playing? Do you think that the balance changes are enough to make it more healthy or we’ll need another patch soon?

Below, you will find a full list of the Legend decks from last week, sorted by the highest placement.

I’m doing ok with my mech Mage deck. Is kinda fun to play, but in diamond rank there is to many druids and pirate warriors; Is stupid at this point. ????

I think that Aggro DH is not going to be a problem. It gets wrecked by control decks and those are going to have more space if Ramp Druid isn’t so oppressive. For me the meta’s been fun but I’ve definitely been getting sick of all the Druids!
