    With velen 2 dmg 4 health per unit i think this is solid card. 1dmg + velen = 2dmg. 2hp heal + velen = 4hp heal 5/5

Why Prophet Velen when you can just use Bloodmage Thalnose for the same effect. Though imagine with Malygos

im just thinking that how good card this is. ofc bloodmage and malygos would be stupid with it but i just wanna see more velen in play 🙂

As a long time Priest lover, i like the card…it means something to me to have a board clear smaller than Holy Nova and more flexible than Auchenai+Circle. We’ll see.

Okay for arena, meh for constructed.
The card is good against zoo aggro decks, but leaves much to be desired against control, face and combo, essentially a dead card against decks that don’t rely on tokens. Assuming you use this in an ideal board state with a full board you would still need to combo this with other cards to be effective, the heal alone isn’t much if you fail to clear the board since at that point you’re staring down the barrel of a bloodlust or savage roar.
even pirate warrior can reasonably ignore a decent use of this card, as the tempo loss of not developing your board early means the heal from this is often irrelevent. Unless there is some awesome follow up priest cards to come, I would recommend just using tar creeper over this.

I agree… this card is nice but I think won’t be enough to counter aggro decks and weak against other kind of gameplay
Tar Keeper is more reliable and flexible
Unless we will have a good spell damage creature for priest …??

Consider it as priests maelstrom portal. instead of a 1 drop u get HP and activate northshire cleric card draw engine at will. 5/5

To trigger Northshire cleric, you’ll need a circle of healing after using spirit lash…

I think he means a way to damage Northshire Cleric and/or your other minions to actually get draw off of her.

Heavily overrated 5/10 may see some play early on.

Lol forgot spelldamage? Bloodmage Thalnos makes this an amazing spell (4 mana deal 2 dmg to all minions + Lifesteal + draw a card for Thalnos’ deathrattle).

I think, that you cant really mention the draw of Thalnos, because you use up 2 cards. Thalnos only replaces itself.

Besides the obvious, (spell damage combos, pirate warrior counter), I think this card is the most interesting because it opens up the possibility of healing your minions – something only pyromancer did up to this point. While its synergy with northsire + circle has already been pointed out, I feel obliged to reinforce how much more efficient this card could make the priest draw engine.

On a different note, dou you guys think Holy Fire will be converted to have Lifesteal? It would technically be a slightly different mechanic, but it was immediately the card that popped into my mind when I read about Lifesteal 🙂
Not that Holy Fire is any good, but still.

No it will not. Holy Fire interacts differently with divine shield than lifesteal does. So if you hit a dshielded minion (or animated armor) you will still gain 5 life, whereas with lifesteal you would not gain any life, because no damage was dealt.

And it would also not scale from Spell Damage, yes, I know. Nevertheless, I feel it is such a similar mechanic that they could easily replace it.

And quite frankly, noone would notice, right? When did you last use holy fire? 😀

For me, yesterday. It still has fringe uses.

This Cards soooo good, Been playing a lot of Kaz priest and I always find myself either hoping to draw my AOE cards and healing cards in a lot of match-ups, and this card pretty much does both!

I think Blizzard is finally trying to slow down Aggro/Face decks with this expansion with this new life-steal Mechanic

But overall great card for Priests (Control Priests) + works well with Lyra

Right on the money with the Lyra (and radiant elemental) synergies, I totally forgot to mention how low-cost priest spells are generally really strong due to those cards. I also totally love the fact that this deals damage to your minions as well – I guess this could essentially make Acolyte playable in priest? I don’t think you’d need it, but the possibility is there. I feel this card would be alright even without the Lifesteal, just because how versatile it makes my Priest combos. Ofc, with Lifesteal it becomes one of the most promising priest spells ever.

Lifesteal is quite an interesting try to solve the problem of the aggro decks. I feel it really needs to be combined with the right card effects to make it just strong enough. I fear it might either end up as too little for countering these decks, or too much, and will make everything but OTK/Fatigue decks unplayable. So yeah, we’ll have to see how accessible/conveniet the mechanic is for certain classes, though it is perfectly placed on this card.

RIP in peace aggro decks, we need more cards like this!

If you hit 10 minions with this, do you heal 10 points, or 1 point, ten times over?

    • Falacio

      1 point ten times

That’s *murder* with a Lightbringer out even *before* you add a Circle of Healing, then!

This is going to push priest into a permanent tier 1.

Shuts down aggro, but can be combined with pyromancer, acolyte of pain, and so much more.

It’s more comparible to whirlwhind since both spells target your side of the board as well.

Will work with Pyromancer as well as Thalnos for a nice 4 mana 2 damage board clear, this card combined with a few other staples will practically guarantee that there will always be some sort of useful clear on hand.

It has very good synergy with bloodmage for a deserved 4 mana boardclear in priest. With the upside of healing the hero it is comparable to maelstrom portal 2 mana 1 damage board clear with upside and the lifesteal aspect is like the shaman legendary.
I think blizzard will try to make a very strong deathrattle priest with this card. It has very good synergy with bloodmage(loothoarder is now staple)for a deserved 4 mana 2 damage aoe in priest, that heals a lot. Also great with extra health to not waste any health point.

As the new heros upgrade the heropower, I expect that the deathknight priest hero will synergy with velen. As for rounding up they may add some more cards with spell damage to priest. Would be likely after the previous priest spell expansion and the previous arguments. This lets me expect that priest will be a controll deck with deathrattle quest, spell damage, velens and the new priest hero.

Amazing card, on turn 4 throw Bloodmage Thalnos down then this to clear alot of boards and heal quite a nice amount of health.
Can also be used to clear the turn 1 3 pirates that is all to common

This card is the new version of the xama spell. This good against aggro decks. And Lyra. Its potential op

Even if it doesn’t kill anything… Spirit Lash > Northshire Cleric > Circle of Healing; it’s a 3 card combo but for 3 mana, against something like token Druid, you’re going to get a reasonable amount of health and a lot of card draw.

I am curious if this will lead to Enrage Priest decks popping up. Throw in some enrage or damage benefit cards, throw some health buffs cards, and maybe some healing cards and you ight get a pretty effective deck.

Could lifesteal be the death or at least the counter to aggro/pirate warriors decks? Prevents them to close in the first turns and shift the Meta definitely more on the Control side.. I like it!

Potentially OP with spell damage +X given its low cast requirement. Works against any Zoo type.

Could be a solid card because it gives Priest one more AOE spell and helps her to sustain by having lifesteal

It is also a cheap spell that may have good synergy with Lyra
