Theres something I dont understand though, by set 10 mana is it like Kuns effect and we regain 10 mana or we have 10 empty mana crystals? Either way seems like a risk and reward card to play since with 10 mana your opponent also gets on their turn they’ll either play something really big or beneficial than your 8/8 noz or just straight up remove it. If they dont have an answer though very good.

I play only paladin (low budget but all put in one class). I don’t see it as a 4 8/8, but more like a 4 10/10. Because it would be the lowest minion in my deck and I would pull it off with Call of the Adventure. At already 10 Mana, it’s a 4 Mana 8/8. Late play but solid. And i’m not scared to put my opponent at 10 Mana if I have time out for tempo and then consec+equality/shrink Ray. But it implies a deck based on 2xDuel and Big Rush/Taunt minions. Cheap spells and 2x Lens to explosive turns.

It’s a strong card for fun decks around T2/ T3, but it would not necessarily see plays in T1 decks.

It allows me to play Ragnaros Lightlord turn 5 so 5/5 for me

This looks like a set up card for big pally actually using lower cost spells and high cost minions maybe few high cost spells. Drop this and your big minions are playable few turns earlier you would most likely run 2 copies of duel for when this doesn’t show early. But the only decks it might do well against is the faster decks since can give you access to most of your removal tricks on next turn and opponent will likely empty hand out.

Does anyone think this into sathrovarr is viable

It’s possible but it still gives opponent 10 Mana to knock this off the board first or gives some access to cards that could do it that were dead in hand from early draw.

Wild is a fine game mode which I will be mixing in with standard play come the expansion.

This is duskfallen Aviana except with an 8/8 body. Giving your opponent access to 10 mana first is not ideal and allows them to easily deal with the 8/8. I don’t think this will see play.

It isnt like duskfallen Aviana were if your oppenent removes it you dont get the effect. With this, you simply mess up the gameplan of many fast decks.

How does “give your opponent access to 10 mana first” mess up the plan of fast decks? instead of 5 mana turn 5 they have 10 mana turn 5 and that would probably end the game.

They run out of steam quicker and you can AOE them and win the game

Alot of fast decks run more low to mid cost cards with this it can set them to use up whole hand early and you can just counter it with a mass removal combo. After that alot of decks would quit since they would be stuck in top deckode and you can just drop big stat cards.

Good card definitely. I think we will hate highlander paladin and this card when expansion launches

    • Cursore1610
      November 3, 2019 at 8:22 am

Remember that Highlander paladin was not even part of the meta before Doom in the Tomb. It definitely is a force to be reckoned with right now, but after Mysterious Challenger, Ragnarso; sylvanas and Avenge retun to wild I don’t think that Highlander paladin will be strong as it is now. And why should Highlander paladin play this card at all? I feel like an Aggro or Midrange deck wouldn’t want to skip the early and mid game.

        November 4, 2019 at 9:08 am

Even though the highlander card for paladin is Best suitable for early game. The other tools of highlander paladin (King phaoris, tirion, etc.) are good for kate game. If you drop this card on curve yes it makes sir finley useless but i dont think it will be that much of a difference

Midrange decks have SOME late game bombs that try to close out the game, but they are not based on those. Normally, Highlander paladin tries to do some really good plays in the mid game (namely, Mysterious challenger) that can hardly be removed by the control decks; then, in late game, they drop that Ragnaros, Tyrion, Sylvanas or other things to end the game. Nozdormu would just put a control deck in a better position, because it would be able to remove your big threats thanks to the strong late game removals and it would not care about the smaller ones.

Control decks also focus on managing resources in hand and letting person use up hand while you keep banking big control cards. Priest can take some build up and needs to load a grave. The thing about a deck running this is likely has big minions and will probably run copies of Duel for when haven’t drawn this. It’ll be a clunky deck until gets worked out but most likely see it as card for big dragon pally.

        November 4, 2019 at 9:10 am

Yea highlander will hurt from the loss of avenge, mysterious, etc. and it will most likely drop on the ranks but a hybrid of big paladin and highlander can be good enough

Wild Even Pally would love to drop this + Zihi. This could actually take it from off-meta to Tier3.

    November 2, 2019 at 5:11 am

This + Mojomaster Zihi = Profit?
Mind you that this will completely cuck ALL Aggro-style decks, but will benefit ALL Combo and more Control Style Decks too as your opponents, so be wary when you see something like mage or Shaman for example. 3 Stars.

Aggro decks are already losing if its turn 10 so the mojo master nozdormu combo isnt that important in the aggro matchup

Did you like 4 mana 7/7? Now get ready for this…
I feel like the card is not THAT good. To be clear, I think that it works as Zihi, so you can use 6 mana right away. Your opponent gets to use 10 mana before you do, but you do have a 4 mana 8/8 just like that…. the thing is that a midrange deck doesn’t want the control decks to have access to the late game bombs and the removals. Nozdormu is really good even in the late game, where it’s just a 4 mana 8/8. To be fair, I do believe that a midrange dragon paladin build could be really good, but Nozdormu is just not perfect for that particualr playstile. I don’t see a paladin deck that really wants this effect, except for maybe duel paladin. The main thing is that it lets you skip the early and the mid game, going straight up to late, similarly to bilogy project in some manner. I think that it really needs to be used to understand how good it is.

I kind of like it though. Maybe more flexible in a control concept than a aggro build. On turn 10 you can play it after pyro equality and earlier you can play it if you see that your aggro opponent is getting out of gas.

Um this is straight up broken, 4 cost 8/8 (even if it was can’t attack) is already insane and it gives you ten mana? This is just a card that’s not really for any deck I can think of but just insanely bananas

    • Essexmcintosh
      November 2, 2019 at 12:03 am

The card isn’t about getting mana or a (potentially free?) 8/8.
It’s saying that it is now turn 10, last turn you played a mountain/sea giant. The game is diffrent at turn 10. All of your removal can be played. Aggro decks probably just drop their entire hand on the board. They are designed to win earlier in the game. Control on the other hand hopefully uses this card. Control struggles with the early turns.
Though if the last 2 give your opponent mana cards are indicative(duskfallen aviana and biology project) we have nothing to worry about.

I Guess u play this and get 6 more mana in that turn? Probably needs correction, because that would be broken. Should read empty mana…
Anyway, a 4 mana 8/8 with a broken battlecry… Yes ur opp gets to use the mana first, but he still needs to deal with an 8/8, and with the rest of your combo deck ready to kick his ass next turn??? Seems broken in any situation

  18. Rolioli
    November 1, 2019 at 7:44 pm

Wtf was blizzard thinking. 4 mana 8/8 that gives you ten mana after you play him. Little broken, they probably meant it to be empty mana.

    Broken Card.
Like Kun but only 4 mana.

    • Mr Bump
      November 1, 2019 at 7:02 pm

Nah, unlike Kun, you get 10 crystals, but it doesn’t refresh them. So although you have put an 8/8 on the board on turn 4 (best case obvs), your opponent gets first use of the 10 crystals to reply to that.

      • H0lysatan
        November 1, 2019 at 7:32 pm

well, the card description wasn’t “empty mana crystal”.
        are you sure?

          November 1, 2019 at 7:55 pm

It does usually say “empty” when they are empty

It’s the same wording as zihi and they don’t refresh your mana crystals either
