Top Standard & Wild Legend Decks – United in Stormwind Week 4 – August 2021

We’re already close to a month since United in Stormwind was released. And it’s been a pretty wild one, some players have been happy with the meta, but it certainly didn’t appeal to everyone (even more so in Wild – if you think that Questline Warlock is too strong in Standard, you definitely shouldn’t try out the other game format). Interestingly enough, another balance update was already announced. We don’t know the details, but two more Warlock cards should get nerfed early next week (August 31). That’s when we’ll get the big Battlegrounds update, as well as the Mercenaries showcase. Yep, it will be a busy Tuesday.

As for the meta right now – it was probably the week of Demon Hunter. After a few notable players played it and got good results with it (like xBlyzes), the class has jumped in popularity in high Legend – maybe it didn’t see the same change at lower ranks, but high Legend was full of Demon Hunters recently – Brute build in particular. Does it mean that it’s actually THAT good? Well, I wouldn’t say so, but it’s certainly an interesting deck. Other than that, the meta hasn’t changed much. Questline Shaman got even more popular, but it was already obvious where the deck is heading last week. For some reason, Questline Mage is dominating the lower ranks… I’ve been saying it ever since the deck was first popular (without Quest) last expansion – even when it’s not strong, it will be pretty popular, because it’s simply fun to play and sells the Mage’s class identity very, very well. It’s also not very difficult to play, so that’s that. Questline Warlock is also extremely popular – mostly Giants version at higher ranks and Stealer version at lower ranks (that’s a split I don’t really understand since Giants build is both stronger and easier to play). Face Hunter, Elemental Shaman, Shadow Priest, Secret/Handbuff Paladin are also all good. Oh, and one trend I’m starting to see is Aggro/Taunt Druid getting noticed by the players. I’ve started testing it out a week ago and it’s been performing really well – right now it’s sitting at only 3-4% popularity, but once more people figure out that it’s solid, maybe we’ll see more.

And Wild… yeah, Wild is still absolutely dominated by variants of Questline Warlock. You don’t see it from the decks I’m posting, because I’m frankly trying to not spam the same deck over and over again – but I’d probably find as many high Legend climbs of Warlock as of all the other classes combined. Yeah, I might be exaggerating, but only slightly.

Maybe the lists I’ve posted below don’t fully show the current trends (besides DH’s popularity), that might partially be because of the Masters Tour Silvermoon going on right now. ~400 players who normally could playtest new things or post their findings on Twitter were focused on building their own lineups and polishing them. But if you want to test something more off-meta, Old Guardian has prepared a list of the most interesting decks from MT Silvermoon he found. You can check it out here.

Below, you will find a full list of the Legend decks from last week, sorted by the highest placement.
