Not viable until a few expansions in the future. 2 stars

This can only rally work if you have some Big Demons or if you have a specific demon that you need for a specialization. (OTK, and what not.) And becuase of Felosphy, (NotLikeTHis) you can even make a copy of it for next turn.

Let’s be real though, your not always going to grab the special demon that you want, and sometimes they are either both in deck or in hand, but that should still be okay. I still think that when you have Archwitch WIllow, in my mind you also need to almost always combo it with Felosophy. Whenever the time is right, Controllock is ready for play again, It was successful in the best, and I think it can be successful (-Ish) here as well. 3 Stars, but 4 Stars if it Works.

It’s times like this I wish Kanrethad Prime wasn’t a demon. Him being a demon ruins SO many big demon strategies, including this card.

Well, it’s another demon cheating card for warlock. Assuming you haven’t yet played sense demons and voidcaller by turn 9, this could see play, not in renolock though.

I think this is really powerful. I see a lot of folks saying there are not cards to support this, but I disagree.

It doesn’t need to summon 2 behemoths to be worth it.

I think it fits nicely into questlock already. Low roll it could summon a Mo’org Artificer and an Aranasi Broodmother for 13/17 total stats + some taunt. High roll it summons an Enhanced Dreadlord for awesome value.

Wow could only imagine this in wild with cards like voidlord this is basically an advanced skull trigger that gives you up to 3 minions without needing to wait a turn for a higher cost.

As for standard not to bad but not that great this expansion so far though I expect it may get better in future.

So far this looks like a booooring expansion. They keep printing statblocks with no cool mechanics. Glide is the only interesting card so far but boy that’s gonna be awful to play against

We need BIG Demons. This is a bad card for the moment.

Why its not a dual class with DH ?? therefore its very bad!

A bit too costly for standard. May see play in wild renolock? But still there are already lots of high cost cards in that deck, and it may fill your hand. Void caller is just a better version of this card. The only thing I see is maybe playing jepetto so you can get this to 1 Mana but then again that isnt always consistent.

If there’s anywhere this could see play, it’s not Wild.

Wym? Standard has trash demons ATM and wild has ways of cheating out this card, or ways of making it busted. It won’t be consistent but this is better in wild than standard (even though it’s trash in both).

Is this one if those future expansion cards?

This can be strong with Enhanced Dreadlord or Jaraxxus, but honestly, I doubt they release her without a proper Combo Card. Then she would be able to give these demons Rush or Taunt. If at least one of the DH/Warlock Cards is a strong, big demon, this will see play in appropriate decks. If not, this will probably be cut due to the risk of not getting the “summon from deck” effect.

But as soon as this has enough to target, it will probably be 5 Stars. You get huge stats on board along with (usually) 2 Taunts (Both Aranasi Broodmother and Enhanced Dreadlord are Taunts) and basicly draw one of them. Don’t underestimate this like some other Demon-based Legendary (looks at Skull of Man’ari’s Pre-Expansion rating…)

This is no DH card, so Warlock needs good demons, not DH, for this to work. On a side note Kanrethad who is probably the best Demon synergy card we currently have also needs some more good demons to be more useful

Demon Hunter and Warlock are Dual Class, that’s what I meant above ^^ And I think this is much better than Kanrethad since it doesnt need to die first and it doesnt need the demons to die first. But if there was a deck with many high-cost demons, both of them would define it (despite their anti-synergy :D)

Agreed. Kanrethad however is quite a good card; he simply lacks support. The true issue with him is that despite having a good effect in both his regular and Prime form, they’re somewhat contradictary in terms of situations where they work best. I like Kanrethad but I wish we had enough Demons around that both his forms are a useful support in any deck that features a good bunch of viable Demons.

However this card is giving Demons as a whole more support, so I hope – most importantly – that we will get more good Demons (especially mid-game ones, which we currently don’t really have in Warlock) so that we have reasons of running this and other Demon synergies!

Couldnt agree more. Demon Warlock would be a super fun deck! if there was more than Enhanced Dreadlord and Anarasi Broodmother, it might actually work. Warlock has proven to have enough earlygame to survive (Galakrond, Dark Skies, Dragons, ectr.) and now all we need are some strong big demons.

Got no support. With only Enhanced Dreadlord that makes this strong, she is just 2 Stars this expansion. Let’s hope she gets something next expansion.

SA may include new big demons but the checking on the demon options for standard there isn’t so much decent option. Also this is 9 mana in which chances are you probably played some already instead waiting to cheat out.

In wild, 9-mana slot in warlock is kinda overcrowded already. Although this could bring in huge pile of stats when played. Battlecry seems a combination of void caller (4 mana) and possessed lackey (6 previous 5 mana), the mana cost seem to added up.

      July 24, 2020 at 11:43 am

I fully agree. Warlock currently lacks enough good Demons to have a reason to run this in the first place. The real problem is simply that currently reasons to run a Demon deck are few. Demon support is quite limited currently -especially for Warlock ironically, whereas DH has some degree of Demon synergies- but most importantly we have very few “good” Demons. Ideally we would need good Demons and good Demon synergies in order for Demon decks to come back. ‘Cause why would you want to synergize with a tribe if you have very limited options of that tribe and they’re not even that good. Point being: I hope Scholomance brings at least one or two decent Demon cards to Warlock.

Guess we’ll be getting some very powerful demons then. I would’ve liked this as a Warlock/DH dual class card just to push the big demon archetype a bit more.

All in all a great card IF we get some big powerful demons.

      July 24, 2020 at 11:47 am

I really hope we do, because the Demon minion pool for Warlock is currently quite sad. Not even speaking about BIG demons specifically – the demon tribe as a whole lacks “good” minions currently, i.e it lacks minions that wouldn’t be mediocre if they weren’t demons, and since Demon synergies are currently somewhat limited for Warlock, I hope Scholomance brings about more Demon synergies for Warlock and _especially_ more Demons so that the demon pool isn’t as shallow as it currently is.

Most of the time it won’t summon a demon from your hand at turn 9. If it would cost 8 mana, you could draw an extra card before you play it.
