Leper Gnome Additional Information

  1. Leper Gnome was changed from 2 Attack to 1 Attack when the Standard Format was released on April 26th, 2016. [Source]
  2. “Leper Gnome is powerful for its cost, finds its way into almost every aggressive deck, and requires no further deck building decisions to be effective. We’d like other 1 mana minions to be more compelling, so we’re reducing its Attack from 2 to 1.” [Source]

It is something relevant to slow down the meta, i think the same nerf is needed to the abusive sergent, they have almost the same impact and the same value.

The problem with Leper Gnome at 2/1 is that for a 1 cost card it can kill virtually every other 1 cost card and a good chunk of 2 cost cards as well… and it’s a deathrattle you want to trigger. Removing it with a hero power would mean taking between 2 and 4 damage (including the deathrattle damage and depending on the hero) and you’d have to use the coin to do it on your first turn if your opponent dropped it on turn 1.

In short – it’s basically just too efficient… but everybody knows that judging by the number of decks it appears in.

This just makes “Mekgineer Thermaplugg” even more unplayable. Still, love to see Aggro nerfs.
