Top Standard & Wild Legend Decks – Across the Timeways (Week 3) – November 2025

Welcome to the first deck roundup of Across the Timeways. Well, technically that’s not true – we already had a post with early builds from the expansion, and then last week after the balance update Old Guardian made his own compilation. But after the things have settled down a bit, we’re back to the regular, weekly schedule.

So, how did the new expansion land? In my opinion, it’s pretty mixed. It’s definitely much better than The Lost City of Un’Goro, but that was probably the worst expansion launch in history (maybe only rivaled by Rastakhan’s Rumble… back in 2018). And the early balance update has dealt with some. But it still hasn’t made most of the new strategies viable.

When it comes to actual new decks that haven’t been played before, the two most popular ones are Midrange Shaman and Dragon Warrior. But while the classes weren’t played in this form before, the whole core of both decks is from older expansion, they just needed the last few tools from ATT. When it comes to new decks truly built around the new cards, we have a few like Aura Paladin or Shred Warlock, but they don’t make up a big portion of the meta. In fact, I’d argue that most of the meta is still “old deck + a few new cards” (like Aggro DH, Discover Hunter, Quest Warrior and so on). Which isn’t problematic by itself, but when you don’t mix that with some new archetypes, it can get boring pretty quickly. And I feel like those new archetypes are still underrepresented.

It’s worth mentioning that there’s another new deck brewing, built around Tankgineer, and it looks quite promising. I haven’t seen many players picking it up yet, but I hope I’ll have something to share soon. That said, I don’t think that it’s going to completely counter the meta and force it to change.

Okay, so long story short. I think that this expansion has a lot of potential, but some of the new cards need a push. We aren’t talking about most decks being in the 30-40% win rate range like last set, but we have some ~45% win rate stuff that might become viable (such as Arcane Mage, No Minion Demon Hunter, maybe even Rafaam Warlock if it gets buffed enough). If we couple a bunch of buffs with a few more nerfs to the top decks, we can have a brand new meta. Of course, I can’t promise that it will be a better meta, but I think that I’d take my chance. The only reason to not buff stuff soon is that the mini-set is going to be very impactful, but that’s kinda a wishful thinking (historically mini-sets have very limited impact, we only had a couple of exceptions like Heroes of StarCraft).
