Top Standard & Wild Legend Decks – Across the Timeways (Week 5) – December 2025

Patch 34.2 was released earlier this week and, as expected, it had no Constructed balance changes. Well, technically Mister Clocksworth got un-nerfed because they improved the Rewind’s performance (it being too slow was the only reason Clocksworth got changed in the first place), but let’s be real, it’s not a card that’s going to make an impact in the current meta. Maybe next year if the power level drops down, who knows.

As I was saying last week, I don’t expect any further meta developments in Standard, and that still applies. Nothing has really happened. The only new deck people started playing lately (over the past couple of weeks) is Timelooper Toki Mage. And honestly it’s really fun to play (at least for me), but it’s more of a meme deck. It has 40-45% win rate deck with about 1.5% play rate, so as you can see, it’s not exactly a meta contender. If you want a more in-depth analysis of the rest of the playfield, you can go back to last week’s post because it pretty much applies to this week too.

So again, when it comes to the meta, it’s safe to say that we won’t see any major changes until the next balance update or the mini-set, whichever comes first. And which one comes first? Hard to say. We might get a balance update before World Championship (which starts on December 18), to spice things up and hopefully make the play field a bit more even (otherwise we’ll almost surely see 16 Discover Hunters in the lineups). But if not, then the devs will be on a Christmas/New Year break so nothing is going to happen during that time. And then come January, we’ll be very close to the mini-set, and it’s not common to see a patch right before it. Especially in a meta like this which has no real insane outliers at most play levels (other than Discover Hunter in very high Legend).

However, if you’re tired of the current Standard/Wild meta and want to try something different, I think that the current Dual-Class Brawl is pretty fun. It’s very imbalanced, of course, but that’s not a big deal, it was never meant to be fair, the goal is to find OP combos between two classes after all. Funnily enough, most of decks run Rogue as one of those classes simply because of how overpowered Preparation and Shadowstep are. Of course, Rogue is kinda balanced around having those. As we all know sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t, but at least the devs have to think about them when designing new cards. However, when you throw them in other classes, things get very broken very fast.

My biggest issue with the Brawl is that since it’s a Brawliseum and players have only a single free entry (further ones are paid), the experimentation is lacking and a very strict meta has formed. Yes, I know, meta is always forming, but in this case it’s even more apparent because even high ranked players don’t want to experiment a lot because they have to pay for each entry. I think it would be well-suited to be a Twist season, but… I don’t think we’ve heard about this mode at all in 2025, so it’s safe to assume that it’s dead (but for some weird reason Blizzard doesn’t want to admit it).
