Top Standard Legend Decks From Ashes of Outland – Week 11 – June 2020

Unexpectedly, Demon Hunter has been nerfed again. Well, to be honest, not directly nerfed – Twin Slice now costs 1 mana more, but has double the effect. Overall it’s a worse card in Tempo Demon Hunter, because despite it dealing more damage now, it can’t be used to activate cards like Satyr Overseer, Glaivebound Adept or Altruis the Outcast for 0 mana. Which is a good change, but to be perfectly honest, it doesn’t seem to have any major impact on the meta. Tempo Demon Hunter is still strong, no other deck was changed, and so everything remains the same. Which is, obviously, a bit disappointing. When I’ve seen a balance update I hoped for a bit more, like a few more buffs and a couple nerfs. It’s true that the current meta isn’t terribly imbalanced, but it’s just getting very stale.

Given that we should get the new expansion teasers/announcements soon after the Felfire Festival and the entire cycle will star over again, I don’t think that we will see any major shifts when it comes to deck power. Some players are attempting to play a new, slower, more reactive Demon Hunter build, but it’s too early to tell whether it will be any good.

Below, you will find a full list of the Legend decks from last week, sorted by the highest placement.

If anything, Demon Hunter and Warrior are overtuned. Neither Rogue or Priest is particularly powerful now (Galakrond builds for both classes are good, but not TIer 1).

But what I meant is that every class is at least playable (well… Shaman is doing very poorly, but you could say that it’s PLAYABLE) and the best decks aren’t uncounterable and don’t have insane win rates (they’re comparable to the usual T1 decks we have every expansion).

Best deck for me at the moment is Libram Dragon Pala. Its an off-meta deck for sure but I have made really good progress (~60% winrate) in the current meta. Maybe you guys start zu rethink decks, classes and cards. I teched a bit against rezz priest (f*ck priests) and I am doing just fine.

Very sad to see that mostly lack of play testing a big number of cards in the game by the developers is making it unbalanced and making lots of players to quit…

New expansion should come out in ~1.5 months, so I can imagine that there will be no more balance updates. It’s honestly not a bad time to take a break and come back when it’s out 🙂 It’s better to take a break than to get burned out of the game!

Personally that’s what I did and I’m glad, now I have hype for the next expansion and I feel ready to play again the game once new cards and archetypes pop out
