Top Standard & Wild Legend Decks – The Lost City of Un’Goro (Week 6) – August 2025

It’s now been almost two weeks since the small Standard balance update in Patch 33.2. Has anything changed? Well, the patch itself did shake up the meta a tiny bit – but most of those changes were already apparent when I wrote last week’s roundup, so I won’t repeat myself.

Since then, the meta mostly remained stagnant. We had no big new discoveries, but we did see some popularity shifts (both ways). In that term, Fyrakk Rogue and Quest Mage are probably the biggest winners. You really can’t kill Rogue, can you – you nerf their best deck and another one pops up in its place right away. As is often the case with Rogue, the deck is most popular in Legend, and falls off as you go lower in ranks. And Quest Mage, while overall still popular, sees most play around Silver-Gold and then falls off as you reach Diamond. It’s a fun casual deck, but it struggles against many of the meta picks and that’s why it’s not the best climbing choice. Another deck that got more popular is Leech Death Knight – the deck is mid in the current meta, but it’s probably the strongest Control build (next to Quest Warrior) and many people just gravitate towards this playstyle.

On the other hand, as I thought, Aviana Druid is losing popularity. For a brief moment after the patch it was the most played deck in the game, but stats just didn’t support this. The deck has some insane highroll potential, but on average it’s Tier 3. People were hyped after seeing a few pros/streamers getting lucky with it, but then realized that it’s not as good.

And that’s Then we have all the other usual suspects we already know – Quest Paladin (again, more popular at lower ranks), Protoss Priest, Beast Hunter, Dummy Warrior, Aggro Demon Hunter, Owlonius Druid, Handbuff Hunter, and so on, and so on. They didn’t see any major shifts since last week, they are all roughly where they were.

I wonder if we’ll still get a balance patch before the mini-set. Given a very tight timing I’d say no, the mini-set is just a couple of weeks away after all. But if anything happens, we’ll probably hear about it very soon.

Oh, and one last thing – in the Wild section, I included some Heroic Brawl decks (since it was still going this week). While you obviously can’t play it anymore, the Brawl meta is usually very similar to ladder meta, so all of those decks should be good to go if you want to just climb with them.

Below is a full list of the Legend decks from last week, sorted by the highest placement.
