New Hearthstone expansion – Scholomance Academy – was just announced earlier this week. It should be a HUGE shake up to the meta, because the cards revealed so far look pretty good, but more importantly because we’re getting a total of 40 dual class cards. Mechanics or keywords that were normally limited to a single class might now be available in another one. That’s a big deal and will make deck building much more interesting, since classes will have access to not 10, but 14 cards in total thanks to “sharing” them with other classes. We’ve already covered a lot about it, and the reveal season starts on Tuesday, which means that we’ll get to see a lot of new cards soon.
One of the new cards is already out – Transfer Student. It’s really crazy, because its effect depends on the game board players are currently playing on. While it’s not THAT consistent (since you play on random boards…), the effects themselves are really solid, and the card has already made it into a few decks.
But what’s more interesting for now is that we just had a balance update. We’ve already talked about it last week, but now players actually had some time to play the new decks. Sadly, we don’t have THAT many, because lots of pro players (who normally use the decks to climb the ladder) were playing at Masters Tour Asia-Pacific – we’ll be adding Top 8 decks to the site soon, by the way! We’ve also cut all of the decks played before the nerf patch, as they might be irrelevant after the nerfs. At the same time the interest in “old” meta is lower the closer we’re to the new set, so despite the nerf patch a lot of players are already waiting for the next set to hit.
Anyway, after the reveal season is over, we’ll also focus on theorycraftings for new expansion. We also encourage you to use our deck builder and create decks which include new cards – it’s already possible (even though you obviously can’t play them yet).

Any chance NON-Demon Hunter gets a nerf before new expansion release?
Highlander or Face; or both for all I care.
I’m nearly 100% sure that we won’t get another balance update this expansion. The new set releases in just 2 weeks, it wouldn’t make any sense to nerf anything now when the meta hasn’t even settled yet after the last patch.
The one from last week was already super unexpected so late into the meta.
