Top Standard & Wild Legend Decks – Across the Timeways (Week 11) – January 2026

This week I have slightly fewer decks to share because I’m only posting the ones played after the mini-set. Which is an interesting case itself. On the one hand, it wasn’t THAT strong, but on the other, it has tremendously impacted the meta. What do I mean by that? Well, two words – Imbue Rogue.

According to all the stats so far, and my personal experience, Imbue Rogue is mid to bad deck. I’d probably put it somewhere in Tier 3 right now. At the same time, it’s also the most popular deck on the ladder across almost all ranks, with 15-20% play rate. It only gets taken over around high Diamond by Dragon Warrior, but those ranks are always an outlier because people tend to play the most “efficient climbers” when they get close to Legend. It’s quite rare to see a… let’s call it mid deck to reach such popularity. Yes, there are often outliers in the meta, decks that people play, but Imbue Rogue is a huge one.

It’s safe to say that a lot of players just enjoy this kind of play style. It’s not the first time it happened – Thief Rogue in general is usually more popular than it is good, and while Imbue Rogue is not a full-blown “Thief” deck, it shares the biggest similarity – generating a lot of extra cards from other classes. That’s a rather unique play style that makes each match different. It also often wins through a high-roll (like dropping an expensive, late game bomb on Turn 5, or generating some perfect counter for your opponent’s deck), which I guess feels good. I assume that the novelty will wear off eventually and people got back to stronger decks (we’ve already seen a 2-3% play rate decline over the last few days), but I also think that Imbue Rogue will be a part of the meta at least until the rotation happens.

However, other than Imbue Rogue, the mini-set didn’t have a lot of great cards, which I alluded to earlier. Two strongest ones are Prescient Slitherdrake and Remnant of Rage, but they are mostly played in decks that were already a part of the previous meta. Acceleration Aura is also a really nice addition to Paladin – as it turns out, ramp mechanic in a class that is balanced around not having it is quite strong.

The only “new” deck that’s actually strong is Broxigar Demon Hunter. It was sort of activated by the Remnant (and, to a lesser extent, Press the Advantage). The deck has existed ever since the expansion’s launch, but it was always a bit too slow it has a great late game OTK with Broxigar and Youthful Brewmasters, but you pretty much have to cycle through your whole deck to get all the Portals, and that took too long. Not anymore, the mini-set has made it way more consistent.

All in all, I don’t think it’s the worst mini-set in history, it has a few playable cards and it actually made a huge splash with an underpowered Imbue Rogue. But it’s one of those rare cases where I don’t necessarily recommend buying it if you’re low on Gold, but you have some Across the Timeways packs instead. Pretty much all of the playable cards are Commons, so realistically you should get them after 10 packs or so (assuming you already own all of the base expansion Commons, but I’d say that’s a safe assumption).

We should have a cleared idea of the new meta by the next week’s roundup, so stay tuned!
