Spiteful Druid Deck List Guide – Boomsday – August 2018

Our Spiteful Druid deck list guide for The Boomsday Project expansion, will teach you the ins-and-outs of this deck! This Spiteful Druid guide includes Card Choices, Mulligans, Gameplay Strategy, and Card Substitutions!

Introduction to Spiteful Druid

Spiteful Druid is a deck based around its namesake: Spiteful Summoner. By removing any spells that would have otherwise gone in a similar list, Spiteful Summoner is guaranteed to hit Ultimate Infestation with its battlecry (provided at least one copy remains in the deck), summoning a 10-mana minion as early as turn 6 (or 5 with coin).

Witchwood Update

With the Year of the Raven Standard rotation Spiteful Druid becomes a lot better, not because it gained anything, but because it lost all its punishing 10-mana Spiteful summons. While Spiteful Summoner no longer creates Deathwing, Dragonlord or Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, the other three Old Gods (along with a couple other sub-optimal hits) are all out of the summoning pool too. This makes Emeriss and Sea Giant the worst you could possibly do. For 6 mana, 12/12 stats across two bodies isn’t anything to scoff at, and “highrolling” into DeathwingTyrantus and even Ultrasaur is more likely to happen than not.

Prior to the Standard rotation this deck almost looked like it was auto-completed. A lot of Druid’s power traditionally comes from its spells, and removing them all to optimize Spiteful Summoner left the deck with some pretty weak replacements. While many of the minions in this deck remain somewhat unimpressive, many of the other classes are in the same boat now. Many of the best 1 and 2 mana minions that top-tier decks would otherwise have played have rotated out, and the ever-looming presence of Voidlord has most decks running suboptimal tech minions that this deck had no choice but to include before. In a meta full of “trash” tier minions, this deck, which was already competitive when other decks could use better cards, is well positioned for success.

Spiteful Druid Mulligan Strategy & Guide

VS Everything

Higher Priority (Keep every time)

  • Prince Keleseth – When looking at the stats for the deck, keeping Keleseth in your opening hand is one of the highest spikes in percent win-rate. If played on curve, almost every minion you play from then on will be over-statted, giving you a significant edge throughout the game.

VS Fast Decks

Higher Priority (Keep every time)

  • Fire Fly – An extremely versitile minion. On turn 1 it’s a fine play, and on turn 2 it’s almost like having an on-curve minion if you wiff Keleseth. The 1/2 body trades well with popular early minions, such as Silver Hand Recruits.
  • Crypt Lord and Tar Creeper – Super efficient Taunts for the mana, Creeper will often trade with two or more minions and Crypt Lord keeps getting bigger as the game goes on. If you don’t have a 1-mana card going first there is some merit to throwing all your 3-mana cards back. The tempo loss of not playing a minion the first two turns (you won’t have Keleseth on curve most games) can be hard to come back from.
  • Druid of the Scythe – The only card from Witchwood that made it into the deck. The versatility of this card is pretty valuable. If your opponent has a bunch of small minions then it trades well in its Taunt form, but it can also remove a lot of bigger minions in its Rush form.

Lower Priority (Keep only if certain conditions are met)

  • Glacial Shard – Glacial Shard is a decent turn 1 play going second. You can freeze an opponent’s minion and then trade into whatever you want next turn pretty reliably. Glacial Shard does nothing worth doing turn 1 if you go first though.
  • Mindbreaker – Odd/even decks (such as Odd Hunter and Odd or Even Paladin) cripple their mana curve to improve their Hero Power, and Mindbreaker removes that benefit. Not only is turning off an upgraded Hero Power strong, but the 2/5 body trades very well with popular early minions. If your opponent is playing Hunter or Paladin, this is a good keep.
  • Spiteful Summoner – Your goal is still to play Spiteful Summoner as soon as possible, but against aggressive decks you really need to be playing cards before turn 6. If you have any optimal early game play it’s great to keep Spiteful Summoner in your opening hand.

VS Slow Decks

Higher Priority (Keep every time)

  • Spiteful Summoner – With the exception of Prince Keleseth, there’s nothing you want to see more in your opening hand against control than this card. Against aggro it can be a very risky keep, but against control you’re very likely to survive long enough to play it.
  • Greedy Sprite – This deck has a relatively unimpressive early game, so skipping it and going straight to its powerful mid-game is really strong. Your opponent will often realize this and avoid killing it to keep you from your Spiteful turn, which lets you get a bunch of damage in.

Spiteful Druid Win Rates

Winrate stats are currently unavailable for this deck at the moment!

Spiteful Druid Play Strategy

Most of the power in this deck lies with Spiteful Summoner and Prince Keleseth, so you’re looking to play those cards as soon as possible against most things. Up until turn 6, you’re trying to keep control of the board and maintain as much tempo as possible. If you’re ahead on turn 6 your Spiteful Summoner is a lot more likely to stick something big, and this will often win you the game outright. If not, you can out-value your opponent with Ultimate Infestation and finish your opponent off with a barrage of smaller minions.

VS Aggro Decks

Against aggro you just have to stay alive until your opponent can’t keep up with you anymore. This list is filled with Taunt minions to protect your life total, and your early minions trade well with most early aggro boards. If your opponent is playing a pure aggro deck like Paladin than your minions eventually become too large for them to trade into efficiently. If you’ve been able to keep your life total out of burst range then you can take over the game from here. Try to keep your Taunt minions alive, in these matchups they are protecting your life, not your other minions.

Keeping your opponent’s Silver Hand Recruits off the board is more important than it’s been in a while. Odd Paladin has started running Level Up!, which can be devastating if they have any Recruits left from last turn. This deck has a lot of low attack, high health minions; use them to remove the Recruits so your opponent is forced to Level Up! a board that can’t attack right away.

There are so many Taunts in the deck that it doesn’t have too much issue with Odd Hunter. Hunter doesn’t have the powerhouse odd-costing cards that Paladin does and relies heavily on its Hero Power and Kill Command to close the game out. If you get past the early game without taking too much minion damage this match can be pretty easy, especially if you draw Malfurion the PestilentMindbreaker can really shut them out of the game, especially if you can keep it protected behind a Taunt minion.

VS Control Decks

Against control you are the aggressor. Keep Spiteful Summoner in your opening hand and play it as soon as you can. Think about what removal your opponent is likely to have and do your best not to play into it. Don’t be afraid to play Ultimate Infestation if it will cause you to overdraw a little. By that point in the game, this deck cares very little about which specific cards it has in hand, and more that it has multiple things to play. Unlike other variants of Druid running the card, this deck has absolutely no other draw cards in it, so you can often play both Infestations without fatiguing.

Cube Warlock is the premier control deck right now. Silencing Possessed Lackey is important, as doing so slows the Cube-lock down significantly. If you silence the Voidlord that the Lackey summons they can just make more with Carnivorous Cube and Dark PactMind Control Tech can be handy in this matchup if they have a desirable minion out alongside a Voidlord. Popping this Voidlord puts 3 Voidwalkers on the field which, if they have another minion, activates MCT’s battlecry, and with a little luck you can gain some momentum this way. This deck typically doesn’t play Siphon Soul so once you play your Spiteful Summoner you can often close the game out from there.

Spiteful Druid Card Substitutions

This deck runs a lot of filler cards, so there’s a lot of room for substitution. In general you want your minions to be on the cheaper side because you want to have tempo leading into your Spiteful Summoner turn, but you could also fit in some late game cards. Spiteful Summoner and Ultimate Infestation are the only mandatory cards in the deck.

  • Dire Mole, Worgen Infiltrator or Argent Squire – I do feel like deck could be low on 1-drops. Especially with the popularity of token decks right now its pretty important to have something to play turn 1. Argent Squire and Dire Mole can often trade a couple times. Worgen Infiltrator is very likely to be around until the next turn and can trade into slightly higher health cards like Knife Juggler. Adding too many can be bad, but a playset of whichever you like the best might be a good idea.
  • Vicious Fledgling – With the nerf to Innervate it isn’t quite as easy to steal games with “Flappy Bird”, but it can still be done. This deck runs a lot of Taunt minions, which Fledgling likes to hide behind.
  • Ironbeak Owl – Just about everything in Cube Warlock needs to be silenced, and most of the other popular decks have at least a few prime silence targets. Ironbeak Owl is pretty pathetic stat-wise but with how weak minions are right now it’s not that bad. I would really only add this if you play against Cube Warlock a lot.
  • Fire Plume Phoenix and Blazecaller – Along with Fire Fly this makes a pretty decent Elemental package. Much like Firelands Portal, Blazecaller can remove a decent minion while putting a significant threat on the board. I wouldn’t craft these for this deck, but if you have them you could try them out.
  • Bonemare – After the nerf it really isn’t that great but it isn’t awful. It competes with The Lich King‘s spot now, so it’s mostly a budget suggestion.
  • Acidic Swamp Ooze and/or Harrison Jones– No Keleseth? No Problem. There are a lot of targets for weapon removal like Acidic Swamp Ooze right now, and since this is a deck full of techs, it’s a suitable (but not optimal) replacement. If you have Keleseth but still want to ruin your opponent’s weapons than Harrison Jones and Gluttonous Ooze are good choices.
  • The Lich King – Big, powerful Taunt minion that gives the deck a lot of value. Ultimate Infestation does a good job of keeping this deck from running out of steam, but The Lich King can help with that as well if UI isn’t enough for you.

What actually is the point of Grand Archivist in this deck?

Back-up. No summoners (or delt with) till turn 8 and you’re out of cards? Thats your answer. 🙂

I’ve changed leeroy and one mind control for sea giant and it worked perfectly, 2 minds get stuck sometimes and leeroy its useless against taunt decks plus the giants are good offensive

Great deck, made a few changes tho !

    – Replaced Kel with Acidic because didnt have the dust to craft it
    – Replaced Leroy with Ixlid
    – Replaced GA with the Elemental 7/7 which gives +2 attack to elementals which can work out nicely with Tar/Fire Fly !

Works quite nice won about 75% of games played so far !

Not sure if i should change out the GA replacement or leave it though !

Hi, what do you think to run 2 strongshell scavengers instead fungalmancers? I have most of the time board full of taunts, and scavengers is 1 mana cheaper and have 1 bonus health. Ok, fungalmancer do basically the same thing, but buffs only 2 minions. I tested it in some games and it works surprisingly well so far…

Currently 36/11 with this deck. I swapped GA for Lich King and the deck runs perfectly. Spiteful is not the deck’s only win condition as you can put pressure and defend like a standard midrange deck. Mindbraker is absolutely an MVP and can turn the odds in your favor in an unfavorable match

I don’t have malfurion, kele, or leeroy. but I can craft one legendary. Which of those should I go for?

Leeroy is the safest cause he doesn’t rotate, but in this meta Malfurion and Keleseth are stronger. If you want to play druid, then Malfurion.

Of those Keleseth is the most necessary to this deck, but has the least lasting playability.

Hey guys i need some help, i kinda want to play this deck but i don’t have kele or leeroy ( and i’m not willing to craft them). Tho i do have some legendaries that could take their places, can you telle me if they’re decent in this deck?
First i was wondering since i don’t have keleseth i could add an ooz since this deck has no weapon removal?otherwise i do have Harrison.
Other cards i can add in the deck:-Splintergraft
    -Twig
    -Cenarius
    -Deathwing?

    • Tommi

Neither of those are a must to play the deck. I’ve played it from rank 8 to 3. Both legendaries do offer auto value when you can use them. If i would have to replace them I would rather use Lich King and Ysera than the legendaries you mentioned.

Mulligan for a 1-drop, keep keleseth and spiteful summoner. Play your best on-curve minion keeping in mind which deck your opponent is playing and what they’re likely to play the turn following. This is kind of a high-roll deck so all your losses are going to feel a little helpless.

I dont have Leeroy so I put in Cenarius… Buffing a full board +2/+2 works wonders in a minion heavy deck like this!

    May 5, 2018 at 3:54 am

This deck might be fine but RNG sucks for me. I draw both Infestations before the Spiteful Summoners almost every game. And even when I draw a summoner, then rip my last UI before turn 6… It’s really a problem when your whole gameplan revolves around a card that can be amazing or complete trash depending on your draw.

Excellent username my friend. The more games you play the less often those scenarios will happen, law of large numbers and all that. It definitely feels awful, drawing Patches always does.

When you draw double UI, don’t give up. This deck has such a goo synergy that you can still win. It has a lot of buffs and use the mind control wisely.

Dk malfurion = ixlid fungal lord
I dont have malfurion and ixlid/ leeroy it a good combo
    What do you thinck?

    • Martian - Author
      April 30, 2018 at 9:36 am

Fun idea! Faceless manipulator is probably better for that though. You can use it to copy a Lich King or Voidlord from your opponent. Sticking an ixlid might be game winning, and it does mesh better with Keleseth. Ixlid has a big target on its face and only 4 health so I doubt that would happen often.

I have played this deck in 31 games, with a winrate of 81% (25-6), from rank 15 to 7. It is the first time I get rank 7… Very nice deck.

I Like this deck, but it has some problems that sometimes ruin your game.

Things that had gone wrong so far:

    1. With only 2 spells in the deck, is not that unlikely to draw them both before any Spiteful Summoner.
    2. Drawing Keleseth too late (or not at all) Not that terrible tho, the deck is still good without his effect.
    3. Drawing GA before any spiteful summoner and/or with a UI in hand. So using him decreases the chance / negates a succesful Summon.
    4. Not drawing a Spiteful Summoner on time.

Most of this things are just bad luck and not very likely, but i’m considering getting rid of the Grand Archivist because, it has actually been good very few times to me. I think that with only two spells in the deck his chances of working fine are less. For example i dont have this complain at all with Spiteful Priest. when i use that deck, its almost always useful. in druid, him burning one of the two spells many times its not an option cos you dont want to make your summoners useless, and other times he simply does not have any UI in the deck to burn.

    • Smoore
      April 26, 2018 at 5:30 am

Grand Archivist is one of the better cards in this deck. There are going to be games where you draw both UIs or where you draw him before you are able to get off a spiteful summoner, but the power level of playing a 4/7 and casting ultimate infestation is too high to warrant a replacement for him. This deck is inconsistent, but so are other decks, that’s just the nature of the game.

    • J
      April 29, 2018 at 7:42 am

Even without Spitefull Summoner this deck is still very good. I often draw Infestation and still win the game, just because the synergy of this deck is so good.

I like this deck so much! Im on about 10 wins streak by now in higher rank! In some games I used Leeroy to fill my opponent’s board and then mind control tech and if you have luck you can steal some big minions that way, it helped me in 2 or 3 games, even if you steal a 1/1 minion summoned by Leeroy the opponent will have to use another card to destroy the Leeroy because he dont have the 2x 1/1. Big thumbs up for the creator of this lovely deck! <3

In Europe area this deck sucks very very much.
Two spells only, means an auto-lose.
A murloc druid can do better than this.

      April 23, 2018 at 5:43 am

Correction. You don’t know how to play… This deck is top meta and I’ve heard that some players already got Legend with this deck. I went from rank 10 tot rank 6 in one day on the Europian server. I asume your rank is around rank 13-15?

      • MBSpireX
        April 23, 2018 at 12:35 pm

winning only thanks to 4/30 cards hoping that your opponent has no removal is an all-in. Pro players often refuse such a deck.(Sorry for translation mistakes)

        Yes, you assume right but:
        1) I’m not ranking at this time cause i’m farming and trying every kind of deck and new card. I’m obviously not a pro and never reached legend.
        2) I’ve never played this version of spiteful druid (don’t like it) but i beated it a lot of time using recruit warrior, dragon hunter and such kind of meme decks.
        3) European, not europian.

In top 500 legend rn this deck is ran quite often, its quite a powerful deck because confirming a 10 drop off of Summoner is incredibly powerful as the worst 10 drop u can get at the moment is a 8/8 on turn 6 with the 4/4 body of spiteful.

          • MBSpireX
            April 24, 2018 at 12:27 am

In a meta full of paladins and rogues your 10/10 become a 1/10 or suffer a worst fate.
I’m not saying spiteful summoner or spiteful decks are bad decks, I say that in Euro area (probably due to the fact that there’s less warlock than usa) this deck sucks

Well excuse me for my grammar. I’m willing to see you try and speak my mother tongue plus that comment isn’t relevant to this discussion.

Let me tell you something about my experience with this deck…

If you think that this deck only relies on 4 cards then you’re wrong. I’ve won a lot of games without Spitefull and without infestation just because the synergy this deck has is so powerfull.

I just reached rank 5 with this deck and it’s really viable also according to the other person that replied to you and he’s around top 500 legend.

Also, you can still tell me your rank. It doesn’t mean that if you were rank 13-15 previous season that you’re worth rank 1-5 this season or something. So may I know your precious season rank? Because I think that my assumption is right.

Yes man, I said you are right, I’m 17° at this time and before I never reached rank 5.
But my point was that in Europe area (so not based on my record of opponents and friends but in streaming and sites) it is not good as other top tier decks reported in this site.

Where are you from? I wrote point 3) just for joke, sorry. I don’t speak english well so sorry again for that

*Somehow I couldn’t reply to your comment so I’m replying to mine*

Well the thing is… I’m from the European server myself and you’re claiming this deck isn’t good in the EU. But that’s not true at all and I’m the living proof of that (Because of what I achieved with this deck) and a lot of other players are too. I’m not saying I’m a pro, but if you reach rank 5 with a deck, you can say the deck is pretty decent/good.

No offense and don’t get me wrong here. But lower rank people aren’t really in a position to claim if a deck is good or not. Often it’s the lack of skill from the players itself instead of the deck. And when people from a lower rank lose with certain decks they tend to blame the deck itself. But that’s not really fair.

My girlfriend used to be a rank 17-20 player. She knows the basics and plays pretty decent, but even she is already rank 13 with this deck and that’s a new record for her.

What I’m trying to say here is that this deck is indeed a top tier deck even in the EU server. I suggest you learn to play this deck in casual play, because you can really get a higher rank with this deck.

            Good luck

Instead of that I will give you some tips about this deck. You can use this when you want to play this deck or you can use this information to your advantage so you know what this deck is aiming for while you play against it.

-The main goal is to survive untill Spitefull. To do this you have some usefull taunt minions in your deck.

-Almost always try to keep Greedy sprite as it gives you 1 mana when it dies. I almost always use it to trade with in the early game because of this deathrattle.

-Against aggro for me the ideal way is the 1 mana elemental, greedy sprite and a 3 mana taunt. You do not want to keep Spitefull if you only have high cost cards. If you can’t survive the early game then Spitefull won’t be usefull anyway.

-Against control I always keep a spitefull and a taunt, plus the rest is up to you.

-Don’t give up when you draw 2 infestation. You can still win the game. Stack up taunts, drop the 5/5 dragon that gives 3 attack, trade efficiently and wait for Leeroy or something.

I hit Legend for the first time with this deck. It’s pretty solid and pleasant to play with.
ALWAYS KEEP Sprites and Summoners in starting hand, no metter what deck you are against. imho.

      I run:
      -2 druids
      +1 Lich King
      +1 Vicious Fledgeling

So, I wanted to try to build this deck. I don’t have leroy or malfurion, but I do have The Lich King and 1600 dust. So, who should I craft? Leroy or malfurion, not just for this deck but in general as well!
Thanks in advance for any advice!

I suggest Malfurion because of how much more you going to use him and is good in almost every situation.

Leeroy is just a finisher and most of the time isn’t needed

        April 22, 2018 at 8:36 pm

        Awesome, thanks for the advice!
Death knights always seem more fun as well, so I guess that’s and additional plus!

        April 26, 2018 at 5:00 am

i’d go the other way, but only because leeroy is used in loads of other decks as well and is standard so has longer life expectancy in the long term

Not having much success atm. Lost all 3 games with this deck. Idk wth to do lol. Maybe I should just kms.

    • Martian - Author
      April 23, 2018 at 9:01 am

If kms stands for what I think it does you definitely shouldn’t do that. Three games is a pretty low sample size. The way Hearthstone is designed is that the better player doesn’t win every game, they win more games over time. You won’t know if you’re playing the deck well until you’ve played it 50 or more times, and if you stick it out until those numbers you’ll probably be well above average with it by experience alone. Be well friend.

What can I substitute Grand Archivist with?

    • Martian - Author

The Lich King, Harrison Jones or Gluttonous Ooze are some good options.

Is The Black Knight a good substitution? I want to use it but I don’t know for what card put it.

Can’t imagine it being awful. Try Archivist? You definitely want to take out something later in the curve.

    Why Leeroy Jenkins?

    • MooPenguin32
      April 21, 2018 at 4:54 pm

It can be a finisher in some games. I have a 70.6% win rate over 34 games. I’ve played Leeroy 9 times and have a 77.8% win rate when played.

I have a premium HS Replay account, which is where this data came from. I’ve been bouncing between ranks 3 and 2 with this deck.

Yeah Leeroy helped me a lot to finish my oponent. He’s kind of needed.

Depending on your draw I suppose. You have to have an aggressive curve against that deck.

Replacement for Keleseth? And what two drops could I play instead of it?

    • Macaroon
      April 21, 2018 at 11:41 am

I would probably play the priest variant with the shadow ascendant over this if you don’t have keleseth, druid don’t have many good 2 drops as most are spells so it loses a lot of it’s potency. But you could run druid of the swarm or dire wolf alpha.

    • Martian - Author
      April 21, 2018 at 4:57 pm

Acidic Swamp Ooze came to mind immediately. Plated Beetle is fine, and Druid of the Swarm might be good.

  31. Cptmeatballz
    April 18, 2018 at 7:59 pm

I honestly don’t know about this exact version. I seem to prefer from my small experiment so far the one running Applebaum, Lich King and Ashmoore. I found with this one that if i didn’t either draw Keleseth or Spiteful ultra fast / on curve, I would fall so much behind and would always get traded off unfavorably. What do you think?

    • Martian - Author
      April 21, 2018 at 5:01 pm

I havent tried that version, but if you’re going with a Taunt heavy list I’d bet the Hadronox deck is more worth it.

        April 29, 2018 at 5:16 pm

I used ixlid fungal lord, is a good finisher whith leeroy 12dmg turn 10, what do you thinck?

        • Martian - Author
          April 30, 2018 at 9:35 am

Fun idea! Faceless manipulator is probably better for that though. You can use it to copy a Lich King or Voidlord from your opponent. Sticking an ixlid might be game winning, and it does mesh better with Keleseth. Ixlid has a big target on its face and only 4 health so I doubt that would happen often.

Yes! It might not be as good but it will still be very playable. Most of the decks power lies with Keleseth and Spiteful.

Taunt Druid absolutely DESTROYS this, I can best spiteful handily(and I’m not that good) with my quest warrior, but taunt Druid? How the hell can any deck be a that thing? What am I missing here? Lol :p

    • Matt
      April 19, 2018 at 2:10 pm

Taunt druid is slow. Pally and spiteful run it over more often than not.

  36. Jonpe
    April 17, 2018 at 10:45 am

    Good deck..
    did some changes:
-1. leeroy (don’ have it) +1 Ooze 5M 5/5.. I don’t care about draw with harrison and this guys has a good body for late game than the others oozes

-1. fungalmancer +1 of that 3M guy who gives a minon immune, this guys can get a insane tempo for you on board

-2. glacial +1 argent squire and +1 mindbreaker

    -1. grand archivist +1 lichking

I tryed a lot of druid lists, this one is winning a lot of games, is like a tempo zoo deck, if you dont insta win with spiteful you win with ultimate infestion+kelseth value.. also its insane the capacity of comebacks that this deck can have

  37. SornyHailor
    April 17, 2018 at 10:26 am

I swapped Grand Archevist for Alexstrasza. I believe Alexstrasza can set lethal and secure alot of games late and also can save you for turn two to get back on board if you are behind.. Well i tried and its working for me 🙂

    • Martian - Author
      April 21, 2018 at 5:03 pm

That’s pretty cool, I can’t imagine it’s bad. I go back and forth on Archivist. It can be great but it can also be mediocre.

  38. Perry Manson
    April 17, 2018 at 6:01 am

I removed Archivist in favor of the Lich King, it helps a lot in some slow matchups and the casual infestation sometimes is a problem, in my opinion. I don’t see the same value that the archivist has in Spiteful Priest so I opted for a “bag of tricks”, if you get the right cards the Lich King can save your game 😀

  39. Albatron
    April 16, 2018 at 9:09 pm

Great deck! Good fun and a good win rate.
I swapped out Jenkins for Cenarius. The +2+2 buff is amazing with a stacked board or you can use the 2/2 Taunts to stall while you go for the finish.

    • Martian - Author
      April 16, 2018 at 11:03 pm

I have a curiosity question–how do you decide which deck to feature for the guide? I noticed when just the deck was updated, a different Spiteful Druid deck was featured (I believe from MrYagut). This list appears to be the one that Dean Ayala posted on Twitter.

These are the two most popular Spiteful Druid decks per HS Replay. MrYagut’s version has a 58.9% win rate across 61,000 games. Ayala’s version has a 63.3% win rate across 41,000 games.

As always, I appreciate the work that everyone does at Hearthstone Top Decks. It is my favorite Hearthstone site by far.

    • Martian - Author
      April 16, 2018 at 12:23 pm

Glad you’re enjoying the site! This one was chosen because at the time it had the highest win rate and it doesn’t rely on dragon synergy.

      • MooPenguin32
        April 16, 2018 at 12:28 pm

It sounds like each deck is chosen based on win rate and possibly other factors, such as not relying on dragons on the case of this deck. Makes perfect sense. Thanks!

What u think guys about adding one alchemist for burst with crypt lord? great deck btw 🙂

    • Martian - Author
      April 16, 2018 at 12:25 pm

Well you have to forgo Keleseth to run Alch but if you don’t have it then it could be a fun replacement (or Void Ripper). What made Alch so good in aggro Druid was cards like Living Mana that buffed his health by a lot. In this deck you’re often playing 1 or 2 minions a turn, so the Alch/crypt combo isn’t as strong.

With an earlier Version from RDU I managed to climb to R5 from R10 with 72% WR till R6 and 68% till R5.

This Version seems a little bit better against Pally

So i just play this deck from 6-5 and it was great, i play mostly against mage (control, secrets) and warlocks dint play against pally or inner priest so i cant say it’s a tier 1 deck but its definetly a good deck

Any suggested Zola targets, besides Spiteful and Keleseth?

    • Martian - Author
      March 26, 2018 at 9:35 am

Ideally you’d hit one of those two, but I guess maybe The Lich King is another good one in certain matchups. Really apart from those first two targets it’s better to play it by ear. Sometimes you just need stats on the board, and if your most efficient play is Zora into Saronite Chain Gang then it’s best not to save it if you don’t have an ideal target in hand.

Played 4 games, got Ultimate Infestation each time after the mulligan and got both at the last game so i instant cancelled. Fun deck but totally not competitive and not as good as the spitefoul priest.

    • Kuolema
      March 30, 2018 at 11:53 pm

Any “competitive” player would know that 4 games is far from a large enough sample. It’s actually good in tournaments with all the room for tech cards.

  46. CrapCat
    March 16, 2018 at 9:01 pm

Played this deck like 5 games. Drew both UIs within the first 10 cards every time. So dead when that happens.

  47. Pop
    February 27, 2018 at 11:22 am

I find it rather sad that nowadays Standard Druid decks feature mostly neutral cards, and that Jade ones get such beatings from Skulking Geist. Perhaps with next expansion Druid can get back to it’s feet and get some more flavor in constructed too.

  50. ThePineappleGuy
    February 18, 2018 at 12:54 pm

10 drop are not the best, and the archivist is gonna cast the ultimate infestation randomly ( a guy against me hit his own face and died ). Isn’t the priest one way better ? You seem to have a pretty good ratio on it, but that deck doesn’t look very good

    • Martian - Author
      February 18, 2018 at 11:51 pm

Do you die before you gain the armor? Harsh. I would definitely recommend the Priest one over this one, but even though this deck looks pretty janky it’s not that bad. Definitely fails against Pallie though.
