Mulligans

General Mulligans

Prince Keleseth , the obvious one, but he is the lowest minion; so Witchwood Piper is not a casual choice, as I said, it depent of the circumstances.

Remember you have a lot of early removals, as Zap! and Forked Lightning and Lightning Storm in case of an earlier full board.

PD: Sorry for any grammar mistakes on my english. This is my own creation and I pass from rank 15 to 8 in one day. Still working on ladder but im busy some times and i can´t be that constant as i want.

GAMEPLAY: NOT SURE ABOUT ENEMY HAND, DEFILE, DOOMGUARDS, BOTH WIERD GAMES BUT IT SHOWN A LITTLE BIT OF HOW IT WORKS.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VW0hCv9eOXE

This deck is a meta breaker, can beat every deck adapting to the circumstances. Can beat decks like taunt druid, Demonlock, Odd Pala, Odd Rogue etc. But you have to be smart on the mulligan.

The win condition is really wierd, some games you win for fatigue just having control the entire game and getting end value with Hagatha the Witch , other ones you fill the board and go face with your buffed minions, and other more for smart cleaning values or by Shudderwock value.

  • How it works?

The idea is to get early value from Prince Keleseth, in case u havent notice, this is the lowest cost minion in the deck, so is good to save on mulligan the Witchwood Piper to increase the chances of drawing him in case u need to find him, off course the enemy will be trying to do a lot of damage on you. So u have some removals to keep save in the early game as Zap!, Forked Lightning, Lightning Storm, Lone Champion or Tar Creeper .

Zola the Gorgon; is an exception and only hold it if u have Prince Keleseth in your mulligan. Not even works with Witchwood Piper because cant be played on curve. So is more like a mid game card, to trigger Shudderwock future power. (PD: Shudderwock cant trigger himself to put a golden copy on your hand).

  • Mentality under preasure:

A common mistake is to use removals on the first preassure. This allows the enemy to develop  the board gaining control again. So, use the taunts as meatshields allowing the enemy to develop more minions, then keep the control with Mind Control Tech and force the trading on a way to use Lightning Storm or even better Volcano.

  • Not an OTK

Shudderwock is a powerful card but is not your win condition, use it wisely, remember there are battlecries that triggers on  special conditions as Tol'vir Stoneshaper or Lone Champion those conditions are the same for Shudderwock in case you are asking for him to be a divine shield taunt minion.

  • The power of Silence

You have 3 silence in this deck, dont use em on buffed minions, think more about the possible combos n win conditon of your enemy. Except maybe this one. Hench-Clan Thug.

Earth Shock really good against,  Twilight Drake on Inner Fire Priest.

u can also target Rin, the First Disciple or Hadronox . There are other kind of uses against pala recruit or divine shields 4-1 , Direhorn Hatchling, etc..

Hex , really good at current meta. Can easily get rid of Carnivorous Cube as Earth Shock but is also pretty good to nerf Bloodreaver Gul'dan effects, remember he gain value on deamons killed. So u can control a bit better the end game avoiding multiple Doomguard or Voidlord . But… Silence/Kill Rin, the First Disciple as soon as you can! and try to deal with giants by trading with Volcano.

Against Druid u can also silence  Hadronox but buhahaha theres a trap!. When you Hex remember you are summoning a beast. So sometimes when they play  Witching Hour they will get a frog instead a legendary spider xD.

Also Hex is a good option vs. Spiteful Summoner.

  • CARD RELEVANCE

Harrison Jones: U can play this as a fill mana card, remember your Shudderwock will trigger the effect again just in case you are wirried and saving him for a late game. But he is important, as we say this is a poor deck for card draw. So he has a job to do sometimes, plus is good vs Odd or Even paladin, Odd Hunter Candleshot or Eaglehorn Bow , and Odd buffed weapon Rogue.

Saronite Chain Gang: Do not use in mulligan, this is one of your best shields considering Prince Keleseth

Lifedrinker: Your HP saver, remember he will be stronger too as the rest of the deck and is also a good meatshield to activate Volcano or playing around Zola the Gorgon getting a better restore with Shudderwock at the end.

Zola the Gorgon: Versatile AF!  U can get multiple Saronite Chain Gang or Lifedrinker and sometimes vs a full board end game u can play Mind Control Tech+Zola the Gorgon +Mind Control Tech.

Grumble, Worldshaker : Another versatile card, is the only one on the deck that warrante Shudderwock again on your hands for some kind of OTK “combo”. But u can also play it as a Saronite Chain Gang generator getting x4 value. Or dealing damage with your board and replaying them as full heal plus more battlecry effects.

Healing Rain : This card works as the removals. Try to not play it just for healing at the early game, because the enemy will keep developing board and you will keep having an empty board.  Try to use it for full hero recovery more than healing minions.

Hagatha the Witch : As you see the deck has  a poor drawing system. but that is because you have mostly to draw Prince Keleseth with Witchwood Piper and start topdecking or: a strong taunt minion, or a good removal. So is not common to have nothing to play, but there are some battles where you just cant stop playing cards, or gonna need the armor etc.  So Hagatha the Witch is another big removal, plus battlecry allows  Shudderwock to keep removing stuff, (beware if u want the Mind Control Tech effect). Sometimes battles the RNG is not on your side, so Prince Keleseth comes to late and your hand is full of useless removals atm, then u can play Hagatha the Witch and gain a card even dropping minions which effects are useless as Harrison Jones,Mind Control Tech,Lone Champion,Tol'vir Stoneshaper.

Is wierd to get more than 10 cards in hand with this deck but always remember to burn or play every useless card that you get with Hagatha the Witch as Ice Fishing or Totemic Might, maybethe only 2 cards u dont want at all, otherwise there are only good possible cards as Crushing Hand, Healing Rain, Feral Spirit, Tidal Surge and even Avalanche can be great at end game.

  • Substitutions

Zola the Gorgon at the cost of losing his versatility, u can put a second Stonehill Defender

Grumble, Worldshaker: Its kind of the worst Legendary on this deck, it makes possible the eternal loop with Shudderwock, but remember is not only an OTK deck, and sometimes you will burn the Shudderwock back considering the rest of the effects.  U can switch it for Hungry Ettin or Primordial Drake, remember to keep your taunt values. The Lich King also good but we are thinking on economy plus maybe generate to many cards for  overdrop.  Maybe a second Healing Rain works too.

Lone Champion : I love it , dont touch him o_O

U can also sub Forked Lightning for Fungal Enchanted or Kobold Apprentice .

As a control deck, dont be worried by passing on some turns, always try to get the maximum value of your cards. Ofc it makes this deck vulnerable agaisnt OTK decks. (mostly for spell OTKs, not buffed minions).

Hope some of you play the deck with the tracker and upload some statistics soon.

HAVE FUN!!!

I like kalesath + piper mechanics kinda miss it with “my” JackieChan version of this deck including more elemental stuff. But having only 2 one mana cost elementals does not harm the kalesath/piper combo just simply never mulligan these things. Tol’vir Stoneshaper works better than Lone Champion durring Shudderwock invocation yes it requires an elemental previouse turn but it gives you 100% chance to get your Shuderwock’s taunt up. Lone Champion may be better in early to keep the board steady but at the end Shudderwock cast its battlecrys randomly so it might get messy with elementals its harder to play Shuderwock “safe” but its calculated.
Anyway i try playing grumble couse i have him! hes huge! a 7/7 elemental for 6 mana with amazing battlecry and still he does not fill into these decks. I wanted to play him but i change him for Haghata i also play with Kalimos for more felxibility (aoe/heal/face/onyxia kinda stuff :D)

Glad to hear ya! Yeah Grumble is huge, is the most secure way to get your shrudder back at cost 1, then at turn 10 you can play it twice, i dont like the way we have to choose between equip Agatha or Shudder, bcoz both of them are a sure burn on the Shudder combo on hand. Some times the decks is crawling for draws. Im trying now to figure a way to get a better drawing system or wait 2 months for the next brand new cards and prove on.
