Answer: He sets the both players to five mana crystals. And the crystals are filled, so you can still playing 1 mana shudderwocks infinitely, until the combo breaks.

I dont see why u should play this card as u should be already winning when u played shudder so it doesnt rly matter if both players mana get set to 5.
when the both players are set for 5 mana in the battlecry of shudderwock, you receive 5 filled mana crystals, making you able to play infinite 1 mana shudderwocks.
If u are set to splay shudder u will win anyway u doesnt need this also u think u dont get ur mana back when this effects happens
