Deck Import

This is by far the best budget deck to bring to reach legend in RoS. Bomb Hunter is a rising archetype; it is doing so well that, at the time I posted it, has passed Tempo Rogue’s win rate and is considered a Tier 1 deck by HSReplay. This list isn’t too far off from the complete version; most “upgrades” are more like techs given the meta we’re in.

If you’re not familiar with this deck, the guide Hearthstone Top Decks released (https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/deck-guide/bomb-hunter-deck-list-guide-rise-of-shadows-april-2019/) is pretty accurate (including the mulligan guide), aside from a few card choices in the deck list when compared to this list. I prefer Upgradeable Framebot and Whirliglider over Unleash the Hounds and Dire Wolf Alpha because they make good bodies to magnetize and are more consistent across most match ups. Upgradeable Framebot is always a good keep in mulligan. Whirliglider  is definitely the most flex slot on the list, so any tech that you’d consider should replace this card.

Upgrades:

  • Zilliax – A good counter to aggro as well as removal with a body. It’s a very safe craft, as it is the most universal Legendary in the format. Replace Reckless Rocketeer with him if you get him.
  • Leeroy Jenkins – Also a safe craft, as it is a staple in almost all aggro decks and will forever be in standard. However, I have seen some run Reckless Rocketeer over him, as she has the chance of surviving another turn an hitting face again. I’m not entirely sure if it’s worth the extra mana and 1 less damage, though.

Expensive Techs:

  • Boommaster Flark – Most high-level lists include this card, however, he often takes up room in the hand and is too slow to make an impact. He is also only good in this archetype and very niche, making it a bad craft. Only use him if you already have him.
  • Rat Trap – This is a great card against a majority of meta decks this format (especially Tempo Rogue); 2 mana for a free 6/6 later is very good value, and can be good tempo is triggered early enough. To add, I run this personally.
  • Mossy Horror – Two words: Token Druid. This is by far the hardest counter to the deck, and it blows up your bombs if you need, too! If you’re seeing Druid really often, consider crafting him or using him if you already have one.

Budget Techs:

  • Acidic Swamp Ooze – This is the only budget tech I’d even consider using, as it’s very strong against Tempo Rogue and can sometimes be useful against Warriors and other Hunters.
  • Unleash the Hounds – Good against Druid sometimes, but their minions typically have 2 health, making this card useless. You do get a lot of face damage, but you can’t magnetize them, and if the Druid has a wide board, you’re probably dead anyways. It is also very bad against just about every other meta deck aside from Midrange Hunter. I advise to not use this card unless you really need help vs. Druids.
  • Dire Wolf Alpha – Good for giving value to the bombs you generate and can help make good trades, but otherwise it’s a pretty underwhelming card imo. You can usually just magnetize the bombs anyways. Very debatable card to use, I wouldn’t blame you for running it.
