General Information

  • Earn a Year of the Phoenix card pack for your first win in this Brawl.
  • This is the fourth time we see this Brawl. Last time we’ve seen it on August 26, 2020.
  • It’s a PvP Brawl.
  • Brawl’s format is Wild.
  • It’s a build your own deck Brawl.
  • You pick 3 cards – your entire deck is filled with copies of them.
  • It lets you pick a certain strategy and perform it very consistently. With only three cards, you can guarantee some synergies, or that you will have some specific combo piece all the time. You can also build a very efficient Aggro deck.

Top 3 Deck List Ideas

Keep in mind that the Brawl has just launched, so those are deck lists from last time. We haven’t checked things like ban list yet and new cards have been released, so other decks might be better. We’ll add them soon.

Warlock: Malchezaar’s Imp + Silverware Golem + Soulfire

If you avoid playing your too many imps against Mill Druid, you can beat everything.

    WARLCOCK
I think its better to use: malch.z imp, Soulfire, SIlverware Golem
only lost one match against iceblock mage

I really don’t know how you decided this bullshit druid deck is the best, but I came to thank you for that. Thanks to you I am playing almost only against druids with this deck. For now my win rate is 20-2 with a warlock deck(Not the one you suggested) I am playing with Soulfire, Succubus and Silverware golem.

    Amazing Decks:

WARLOCK DECK: Possessed Villager / Power Overwhelming / Curse of Rafaam (Great against Mill Decks and combo deck forces them to use mana with huge burst combo)

AGGRO PREIST: Shadowbomber / Power Word: Glory / Mind Blast (Power Word their minions so they cant attack or buff the bomber)

    Just for fun Deck:

HUNTER DECK: BRAVE ARCHER / TRACKING / WHISP

    Warlock:
    Soulfire
    Darkshire Librarian
    Silverware Golem

Arcane Missiles, Mana Wyrm, Ice Barrier. People give up when you put down the Mana Wyrm, usually, but if they feel brave, and aren’t a warrior based around taunts, this’ll still work fine.

Yeah, i went with this deck and started my first match and the opponent just conceded right away…
Well that was an easy free pack : D

Hunter: On The Hunt, Hunter’s Mark, Kill Command
It kills anything they play and eventually kills them too; doesn’t do too badly against the popular ones either

  9. Fireclaw
    September 14, 2016 at 8:10 pm

    Druid:
    Innervate
    astral communion
    Y’Sharrj Rage Unbound

    Prince Malchezar
    Bear Trap
    Explosive Trap

Counters all the coldlight druids and most the other power decks like mech hunter. Fun against casual decks with all the legendaries.

The hilarious part is that Prince Malchezaar procs 10 times so you end up with 60+cards in your deck

    September 14, 2016 at 8:01 pm

Variation of taunts+bolster I found amusing:

    Shifter Zerus
    Sparring Partner
    Bolster

I never play Zerus until he’s shifted, just for that “What the hell” reaction I imagine people having when I play my 4th, 5th, etc different card.

For Mage: Frostbolt, Cone of Cold, and Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
I’ve won 24 times with it.

    September 14, 2016 at 6:07 pm

    Innervate+Loatheb+Naturalize

List of decks this loses to:
    Murlocs
    Maybe Ice Block?

    That’s kind of it.
I have yet to find a better deck.

Power of the Wild, Savage Roar and Living Roots is undefeated so far.

    • Agamemnon
      September 15, 2016 at 6:34 pm

The best part of it is that people concede just for you playing druid – even other druids.

It works very well on its own right, but loses almost always to Milldruid and Discardlock.

  21. Quackamolian
    September 14, 2016 at 4:07 pm

Just saw a rogue deck: VanClief, Shadowstep, Whisp.

Guy got a 24/24 VanClief up on turn 4 which was cool.

Beat it with mill druid easily though

  22. malcolm
    September 14, 2016 at 3:40 pm

Top 2 was really fun, but then Iceblock mage, mill druid and Leaper Hunter grew to be better than everything else and the only room to grow was in making specific counter decks.

Adding a card turns out to not change this dynamic much. Those 3 decks are all a little less consistent, but still rock-paper scissors each other and Iceblock mage beats literally everything but mill druid and specific counter, destroy secrets decks. So if you’d already played top 2, it’s not as enjoyable. I hope someone finds something ridiculous and new with Karazhan cards, but i’m not seeing it.

Shaman: Evolve, Brann Bronzebeard, Barnes. Fun little RNG deck that’s been pretty successful.

  27. GarBear
    September 14, 2016 at 2:19 pm

Barnes + Deathwing Dragon Lord + Innervate. Stop Naturalize Druid and can flood really fast if you can get lucky on the Barnes

    September 14, 2016 at 12:40 pm

CTOP, but I found this warrior build to stop all the flooding of mill decks to be hilarious: Target Dummy, Shieldbearer and Bolster. Weakness to the current lock discard favorite though…

    • TheCopyUniverse
      September 15, 2016 at 5:42 pm

I made my own Warrior Deck before I even looked for suggestions, and out of the three battles I played, 2 of them conceded not even halfway through! The cards in my deck were N’zoth’s First Mate, Upgrade, and Bloodsail Cultist!

  33. Senor Matador
    September 14, 2016 at 12:21 pm

    Druid= Innervate – Barnes – Y’Shaarj. Awesome

  34. DragonNinja
    September 14, 2016 at 11:51 am

I tried Babbling Book + Unstable Portal + Mana Wyrm, for versatility (and fun) purposes, but it is too random and slow to face against garanteed turn 3-4 win decks like mechs.

    Too bad 🙁

  35. Theenoh
    September 14, 2016 at 11:49 am

Priest: Resurrect, Injured Blademaster, Onyx Bishop

  36. Cilaren
    September 14, 2016 at 11:32 am

Prince Malchezaar makes for a 60+ card deck btw. Also renouce the darkness is Fun

  37. karmaprey
    September 14, 2016 at 11:25 am

I think Priest running Circle of Healing, Flash heal, and Embrace the Shadows is pretty good. Hard counters Druid Coldlight Mill and the Evolve Shaman decks.

mage mana wyrm arcane missiles and frost bolt.

I’ve got it! Play as a Hunter
    -Brave Archer

    -Freezing Trap
    I call it…
    “No mans hand”

    Fatigue/bore your opponent to death:

    Forbidden Healing

    Coldlight Oracle

    Humility

  41. WingedScribe
    September 14, 2016 at 10:40 am

Here’s a stupid one that can double as a counter to aggressive mech decks or as its own massive aggro push:

Druid: Innervate + Deathwing + Deathwing, Dragonlord. Not exactly dust-friendly, but if you’ve got it, you get to LOL all the way to the bank.

  42. Zkool47
    September 14, 2016 at 10:28 am

Try Doomsayer, Mana Tide Totem and Thing From Below. It’s really annoying and quite effective. Filling the board with Things From Below is so satisfying.

  43. Chaoseven
    September 14, 2016 at 10:26 am

Druid: Innervate, Barnes and Y’shaarj. Undefeated too.

  44. WingedScribe
    September 14, 2016 at 10:16 am

Rogue: Mechwarper, Iron Sensei, Enhance-o-Mechano. It’s a little RNG-reliant, but when it works, it works.

  45. Ur boss
    September 14, 2016 at 10:10 am

I think this is a good deck for top 3:

    Molten giant

    Ice block

    Sunfury protector

  46. Squirrel
    September 14, 2016 at 10:03 am

I’ve been doing well with this meta hater deck.

Doomsayer, anoyotron, prince malchezar as warrior.

    Thanks squirrel.

  48. GrandReaper

iceblock, frostbolt and fireball for 3 cards freeze mage, won 5 in a row

This is without a shadow of doubt the WORST tavern brawl ever!
No fun, all games are very one sided and draw dependent.
It requires no skill and is no challenge.
I will even forego the free pack and won’t be playing this one.
I’d rather go for a prostate exam!

    • Evident
      September 14, 2016 at 9:46 am

I don’t really agree, early in the Brawl there’s a lot of interesting combinations floating around. Why wouldn’t you get the pack when most games are less than 2 minutes long?

    • Tom in Vegas
      September 14, 2016 at 11:42 am

One of my favorite tavern brawls because it’s fast and maximizes my gold earning for arena.
