A fun and adaptable quest hunter list that shines in mid range to control decks and has some tools to face aggro.
Some replacements can include:
- Candleshot + Hunter's Mark -A very good defensive removal option but sometimes doesn’t build enough board
- Jeweled Macaw , Glacial Shard and Dire Mole – For beast package as well as some utility in the Glacial Shard to stall for time and generate resources
- Crackling Razormaw – Can highroll and win you the game with a windfury adapt on big beasts such as Queen Carnassa and Rexxar zombeasts. Sometimes misses on minion such as firefly and glacial shard but you can swap it out for Houndmaster Shaw or Halazzi the Lynx
- Tracking – Gets through the deck faster to get to Deathknight or finding answers, however, cuts the deck and you can lose some important cards as well as get you closer to fatigue. You can swap it out for more draw or add another Toxmonger
- Gluttonous Ooze– My preferred tech. Against druids you’d want a Mossy Horror but it has anti-synergy and you have to find Toxmonger or Deathstalker Rexxar to clear the spreading plagues or high health taunts. Used to run Harrison but falls in some matchups. You can put another Toxmonger or Houndmaster Shaw but it can (very unlikely) fall flat if you have no good minions.
Notes
- Tundra Rhino is definitely a major win condition to close out games with a big push of 15 damage from 5 broods or 32 damage if they’re all buffed from Dire Frenzy . Sometimes you don’t close it out but you need to pressure them to remove the board or heal the out the damage.
- Ravencaller has the chance to get class 1-drops such as Chameleos , Town Crier and Jeweled Macaw for interesting situations and win conditions
- Jeweled Macaw can highroll you a big beast/win condition that they won’t expect
- Toxmonger and Springpaw as well as Tundra rhino and broods are a really good combo. Crackling Razormaw could adapt poisonous on beasts as well
- Dire Frenzy gives you more value, more cards and if you need to fight for board early, this is a good buff to put on a beast and push damage.
