Mulligans

General Mulligans

The mechs are top priority because your combo must have an extra one of each, and duplicating them with Hex Lord Malacrass can save you time. Extra Youthful Brewmasters may be used to bounce the Galvanizer back to your hand in case you have all the Clockwork Automatons in hand, but not all the Galvanizers.

Aggro Mulligans

Against aggro, it may be more beneficial to have additional ways to freeze your opponent's board. Also, if you have mech minions in your starting hand, it may lead to overcrowding. More playtesting is needed to be sure.

This is a one-turn-kill mage deck consisting exclusively of cards that are in the standard set for Year of the Dragon.

COMBO:

Play 2 x Daring Fire-Eater, 3 x Clockwork Automaton at 2 mana each, then use your hero power on your opponent for 40 damage.

PREPARATION:

Play Galvanizer, shuffle a copy of it into your deck with Baleful Banker, then return the mech to your hand using Youthful Brewmaster. Do the same thing with Clockwork Automaton .

You can speed the replication process if you use Archmage Arugal (preferably in combination with Arcane Intellect) , or if one or both mechs were in your in your starting hand and you play Hex Lord Malacrass.

With all three  Clockwork Automaton cards in your hand, play all your Galvanizer cards until the Clockwork Automaton cards cost 2 mana or less.

Subject 9  gets you closer to the cards in your combo by thinning your deck. It replaces two Novice Engineer and two Loot Hoarder, giving you up to five secrets that you can play without timing constraints, and with tempo if you have a Kirin Tor Mage in your hand. This gives you better value and less crowded hand problems than the draw cards in some other combo decks often create.
