Mulligans
General Mulligans
In general, this deck wants to mulligan for ramp and draw. Playing Bio Project early is dangerous in a neutral matchup, but can be a worthwhile keep with Nourish or Guff. You can keep Nourish with Invigorate, or with Breath of Dreams or Splish-Splash Whelp if you're holding a dragon. Never keep Finley.
Aggro Mulligans
Never keep Guff against Shadow Aggro Priest, unless perhaps you have Bio Project; even then, it's a risk. Rising Waves will win the early game against aggro, after which you can heal with Frost Lotus Seedling and stabilize with cards like Spreading Plague and Fye.
Juicy Psychmelon is back? Man, I haven’t run that card since Kazakusan didn’t require you to play dragons.
This deck is inspired by MartianBuu’s Dream Druid, and it’s far and away the best deck that no one’s playing right now. Naralex allows you to bounce Ysera as many times as you have mana for, playing Nightmare on a friendly minion with every bounce. Unfortunately, the combo is limited by animation times; it’s difficult and perhaps impossible to kill an opponent from 40 health with just one attacking minion on board, even if you have the mana to make it happen. Even so, clever use of Ysera can create huge burst damage turns and win games much faster than the previous Brann Astalor combo.
Ysera often isn’t enough on its own, which is why we still run Kazakusan for additional burst damage. Kazakusan is better with Guff, Flobbidinous Floop to reroll a bad Kazakusan, and/or Mistah Vistah to repeat its burst damage spells. Don’t wait forever, but be careful not to play Kazakusan too early. If you want more gas, you can consider swapping Dirty Rat for Shattered Reflections, but it rarely feels necessary. I’m still experimenting with Dirty Rat; it might be good enough to run in duplicate. It’s very powerful against Imbue Mage and other combo decks.
Razorscale continues to be as good as it ever has been. It’s a tempo play, albeit a bad one, against aggro, and it’s a win condition onto itself against Rogue and any Questline Demon Hunter unlucky enough not to draw silence. The card feels particularly good hidden behind a Desert Nestmatron.
