For now, it will only have Basic + Initiate. Plus, it will get 15 class cards per expansion this year instead of the regular 10.

But devs have already said that they plan to make a Classic set for Demon Hunter eventually (after the extra cards rotate out). They might use some of the rotating out cards or create new ones. But it’s still far away from now, so they didn’t talk about any details (I’m pretty sure that even they don’t have it planned yet :p).

Thanks for the report, I’m using Chrome all the time and I haven’t experienced it, although I’m using Windows… Do you get some sort of error or it just won’t log in?

Technically you can do that… but you can do the same in any game with MMR system. And people don’t do it, because it’s too much hassle and kind of unfair.

Wait, what do you mean? You WON and your lost Legend ranks? That’s definitely not how it should work. Did you take any screenshots? Or do you remember which ranks you were at before & after games?

I’m pretty sure that you will be able to climb higher than Silver 5 🙂 Silver 5 would be like Rank 17-18 under the old system difficulty-wise. And for that rank, under the old system you got a golden Common and like 20 Dust. 3x Rare card and a pack from latest expansion is worth so much more.

Rank 10 in the old system will be Platinum 10 in the new one. For which, again, the rewards are WAY better – you get 3 packs in the new system.

No matter how high you got in the old system, if you get the equivalent of that rank under the new system, the rewards will be just better.

You should be able to get one time rewards (right column in the table in this post) right away. I could open the packs and got Rare cards right away. If you didn’t get them right away, you should probably report a bug.

The monthly rewards are, like previously, in the chest that you will open at the end of the month.

Interesting! I haven’t lost a game in Bronze to confirm, but I’ll look into it. It might be the case, given that you couldn’t lose ranks between R25 and R21 in the old system.

No, no. That wasn’t official announcement. That was J_Alexander’s predictions article of how tournament mode COULD look like if it was implemented :p

To be honest, 90% of theorycrafts you see online won’t work. But that’s the beauty of it – you simply don’t know what will or won’t work.

But I wouldn’t judge the meta by what you’ve seen on the early access. We’ve been getting those every expansion and they have never correctly predicted the meta. There’s just not enough time and resources to play all the decks, all the matchups, optimize the decks etc. It takes at least a week or two with thousands of pro players to figure stuff out.

I will definitely try out both Spell Druid and Spell Mage, because I’m always a fan of “unorthodox” ways to build and play your decks. I don’t think that they will be amazing, but many decks have surprised me over the years 🙂

Yeah, I think that I would have went with Overgrowth. The deck has A LOT of value generation (Crystalsong Portal, Fungal Fortunes) and it might be better to get to high mana quickly to

If Nourish was still at 5 mana, I would easily go for it, but at 6 the added flexibility might not be enough.

Yes, we will be adding more non-Highlander decks. In fact, we’ll be adding more new decks every day until expansion’s launch and most of them won’t be Highlander.

Sorry, we just kind of started with Highlander as one of the first packages, so there’s a lot of them right now.

They teased it a few YEARS ago, not a few months ago :p Then a while later they’ve said that they stopped working on it. So there are currently no plans for tournament mode that we know of.

Unless you mean the Chinese version – they’ve built kind of an “add-on” that let lets them play in-game tournaments a while ago. But it’s China-only.

I played it for a bit just to test stuff out (since I’m in Bronze anyway and I don’t really care about losing games with 10x multiplier :P) and I have to say that the new decks are bad.

Rogue is okay, I played it once and won once. But it’s still way worse than Galakrond build. I also managed to get a win with Priest (1 out of 2 games). But that was mostly because I got lucky with my curve – T3 5/6 Watcher into T4 Unsleeping Soul carried be when my opponent had no way to answer that. I guess that other decks could also snatch some wins, especially at lower MMR, but they’re still really bad. Didn’t get any wins with other decks and I gave up because it was not fun. Warlock is the worst offender… I seriously don’t know how could anyone win with that deck. I’ve played some Quest Warlock in Saviors of Uldum and so many card choices in this one made no sense.

I don’t think they will, but I’m hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

My guess would be that they will release a new, similarly working card this year too. We had Whizbang in Year of the Raven, Zayle in Year of the Dragon and we’ll probably have something else this year. It would make sense.

It might take some time getting used to it, but it’s really not complicated, so after a month or two everyone should be familiar with it 🙂

And I honestly never calculated how many wins you will need to get into Legend, unless I was already close, so it’s not an issue for me. But I’m pretty sure that someone will make a sort of calculator you can use eventually.

To be honest, the new system will be more fair. The point of ladder is to play against opponent of an equal skill. From the perspective of those weaker players you were beating at the end of season, the matchmaking was really bad.
