High Priest Thekal

From a video i saw on youtube, it seems that is not the case.
When you use this card if you are at 30HP, you are left with 1HP (Red) and 29 armor.
Since the HP is red it means you can heal it up. For example cards that set a minion HP to 1 (like Equality) they leave the minion with 1HP (White) so you can’t heal it up. If it where like you say, it would probably be written as “set your health to 1, convert the lost HP into armor” or something like that.

High Priest Thekal

I think this card is really strong, the main problem with paladin heal synergies, is that a lot of cards are useless if you are toped off, but with this, cards like Benevolent Dijinn, the Pearl spellstones, cristal knight, truesilver champion or even holy light seem a lot stronger.
The last month i’ve been playing a Control Paladin with some of these cards and in such a deck, Thekal fits perfectly.

Hakkar, the Soulflayer

In my case, i have doubts regarding the order of things when you draw two Corrupted Blood in a row…
Possibility 1) you draw the first one, 3dmg, draw another corrupted blood, 3 dmg, draw another card, then shuffle the first two bloods, then the second two bloods.
Possibility 2) You draw the first one, 3dmg, draw another blood, shuffle 2 bloods in deck, 3dmg, draw another card, shuffle another 2 bloods in deck.

If it’s “2”, then you die the second turn you get to almost fatigue (with one blood on the deck) because you will keep drawing and shuffling bloods until you die.
If its “1” you just get more and more dmg each turn.

Hakkar, the Soulflayer

I kind of like this card, it transform fatigue into a nightmare.
Let’s say you are lucky enough to receive the corrupted blood as the last card in your deck (if you draw it sooner everything is worst). So you draw it, receive 3 dmg, recieve 1fatigue dmg and put two in the deck.
Next turn, you draw it again, receive 3 dmg, draw it again, other 3dmg, then 2fatigue dmg, then put 4 on your deck. so is basically 3+1 then 6+2 then 12+3 then 24+4 etc… Very deadly, Even if you somehow have a lot of armor, it still will kill you quite fast.

im asuming that the “draw” part of all blood card happens before putting the 2 copies of each card in the deck, if not, then is infinite dmg as soon as you get two of these as the last two cards in your deck.
I think is the first case, but i’m not 100% sure.

The good part, is that since Hakkar is a 10 mana minion with a Deathrattle, its hard to activate in the same turn it is played.. at least, you get a change to silence/polymorph it.
If not, Only Geist or Hemet (both rotate on April) or shuffling a lot of other cards into your deck can save you..

Anyway, i think for it to work, special decks will have to be made around it, i doubt it will be a common sight on the ladder.

Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk

Love it, seeing the new mage cards, Jan’Alai’s condition should be easy enough to complete before T7. At first i thought of Odd Mage, but i think it will actually be easier to pull with regular mage using Spirit of the Dragonhawk + Daring Fire-Eater. Even if you don’t have 3 targets, having only 2 you can make 6 dmg on T3, and with that it should not be difficult to do another 2 dmg before T7.

Four Warlock Cards from Rastakhan's Rumble Leaked!

Personally, i’ve always hated discard as a mechanic, it just feels bad to lose a potential resource due to bad luck, this to the extent that i discourages you from making a deck that is too dependant on a single strong card, due to the chance that you might discard it by accident (imagine discarding Bloodreaver Gul'dan). That said, i really like Soulwarden, i think that the possibility to recover discarded cards is what could make the archetype playable.

Rastakhan's Rumble Card Reveal Schedule & Reveal Livestream Dates

So Far only 20 cards have been revealed, and the list here shows 50 more. The Expansion has 135 new cards so there might be another murloc in the remaining 65 cards.

You are right i missread. i thought the taunt was conditional as well.

Belligerent Gnome

I was thinking it reminded me of Twilight Guardian but Wyrmrest Agent seems like a better comparison actually.
I think this is a pretty strong card, In standard is similar to Vulgar Homunculus that sees a lot of play (it does however has its stats+taunt guaranteed).
Would be surprised if it didn’t see constructed play. 4/5

The Rumble Teams and Their Champions - A Rastakhan's Rumble Lore Overview

I know this is a very dumb thing to worry about, but it really annoys me that (i think) this expansion can’t be placed it the Warcraft history continuum. At first i thought it was placed in times prior to the Burning Crusade, it kinda makes sense due to the great amount of participants including Drakkari Trolls and Vol’Jin.

However, Talanji is a participant as well, and she would have been too young to participate at those times. (She was a child during the events on Cataclysm).

So technically there is no time period in which this Rumble could have passed (Unless some Bronze Dragon got involved :P). Again, i know this is a very small thing to worry about (specially considering that HS has never been too worried about this kind of matters) but it stills kind of annoys me a little.

Even Shaman - Post-Nerf Boomsday - #16 Legend (Roarr)

You obviously don’t understand how to play this deck. This deck is quite solid, and it performs better against aggro than against control. Yes, you have no early aoe (late in game you have Kalimos, Hagatha and sometimes the spells hagatha gives you) but this deck has more than enough tools to gain and maintain control of the table, thus negating the aggro attack. Still, sometimes, due to bad luck, aggro does manage to get the upper hand against you, but that can be said about probably all HS decks. I’ve have played with a similar deck for the last few months in ranks 13 to 1 (depending on the month) and i can safely say, that the more aggro in the ladder, the easier it its to rank with it.

Rastakhan's Rumble Expansion Guide – Release Date, Card Spoilers List, Pre-Purchase

I think is kind of the same deal as for example the “Spellstones” in Kobolts n Catacombs or “Portals” in Kharazan. Both of those example are technically just regular spells, but without having a special tag, they are a unique group of spell that share some similarities in how they work and seem different than other spells. this is the same but with minions.

[Rumor/Spoiler] "Brawl of the Rastakhan" might be a new Hearthstone expansion? Blizzard Korea's YT channel leak

If he is the Hero, probably Priest…
1) Cos Shaman just got Hagatha in Witchwood.
2) Priest seems in a little weak spot right now, such as how shaman was prior to witchwood or warrior was prior to Boomsday.

[Rumor/Spoiler] "Brawl of the Rastakhan" might be a new Hearthstone expansion? Blizzard Korea's YT channel leak

I like the idea of it, in wow i usually play aliance so i dont know much about the characters in Zandalar but i hope they take the opportunity to introduce great characters of the troll culture from other places too, like Hakkar, Jin’do, Zul’Jin, characters from the different tribes like the Drakkari Trolls (i always liked their history, about how they were so desperate to survive against the Lich King they ended up sacrificing their own gods to gain power in order to fight back) , the Gurubashi, Amani, the ones from sunken temple or Zul Farrak, some Loas… Anyway, Warcraft is filled with Troll culture and characters so this seems like a good opportunity to use it.

The Year of the Raven’s Third Expansion - What Lies Ahead?

mmm Trolls + Doom = Hakkar the soulflayer maybe? When we last saw him in Zul’Gurub 2.0
He told us he would be back:

-Hakkar destroys Jin’do, leaving behind a battered corpse.
-Spirit of Hakkar yells: Be freed, insects. I will deal with you another time.
-Hakkar returns the heroes back to the mortal realm

So maybe he’ll be back, just not in wow but in hearthstone! Maybe even as a hero card (warlock or priest) and the expansion could be about Straglethorn jungle and Zul’Gurub

The Headless Horseman Rides! Tavern Brawl Guide

Every week when the weekly brawl is posted here, someone complains that “this is the worst brawl ever”. It’s a Brawl, you play it a few times to have fun and get a pack, then move on. If its a particularly fun/easy brawl, you farm it for gold, if not, you forget about it and that’s it.

I won it with Pirates on the third try. cat seems doable, witch seems hard.

Standout Post-Nerf Boomsday Project Decks

A deck that i’ve been seeing a lot in the ladder is Mech Egg Paladin. Unlike most paladin decks, it’s a control deck and its quite solid. I’m usually playing even shaman and out of 4 matches against it, i only won once (thanks to Hagatha mainly). I dont know how good it is against other decks, but i think its a pretty decent deck.

How to Crush the Dual-Class Arena - Strategies, Tips & Tricks for Power Level Picks

My first two atempts were quite bad, ending in 3-2 with a Paladin druid, and 3-1 with a Mage Warlock.
Now im doing quite good with a Control(ish) Warrior Druid (0-5 so far).

I don’t do arenas very often, so i’m quite bad at it (my best result ever was 3-7), but i like this arena, even when i lose, i like how every match is very different cos of the dual class thing.

Analysis Of The Upcoming Boomsday Nerfs (Giggling Inventor, Mana Wyrm, Aviana) And Their Impact On The Meta

i think 1/2 would have been better, but maybe 2/2 wouldn’t been so terrible, its much easier to remove 2 health on T2 than 3 Health (backstab, murkspark eel, eviscerate, drain soul, slam, etc). But maybe you are right, 2/2 might not be enough of a nerf.
