Mulligans

General Mulligans

Bloodmage Thalnos and Loot Hoarder are in the deck entirely to get played early and killed to draw faster. Thalnos is also nice for empowering Drain Soul, Hellfire, or the first cast of Defile.

Plated Beetle, while bland, is a generally usable card.

Dark Peddler and Jeweled Scarab are... Let's be generous and say potentially great. They would be the first cards I'd remove if better specifics came along.

The Spellstone is on here for one very specific reason- scaling. Hellfire, Dread Infernal, and Vulgar Homunculus are the only cards in the deck which actively damage you, so you want to draw this before playing them.

Also, always mulligan away combo pieces. You don't want them.

Aggro Mulligans

Defile, Doomsayer, and Hellfire are all staple board clears for the early game. While they are unreliable, given that you will only have three, getting one or two should save you.

Dirty Rat allows you to negate the battlecries of some aggro minions, like Fungalmancer. It's also a large HP taunt minion for 2 mana, which is incredibly useful.

Hooked Reaver is similar, for the last part, and is often more consistent in its utility. If you have low HP, which you should anyway, it's going to be a 4 mana 7/7 with taunt.

And then there's Plated Beetle, which is incredibly vanilla but still very useful.

Midrange Mulligans

Kazakus and Reno Jackson are some of the highest value cards out there, and I can guarantee they will save your ass at least once while playing this deck. Rin is the single highest value non-hero card in the game. Absolutely crushing, but also slow, which is why Demonic Project and Sacrificial Pact are in here.

The Homunculus is board filler, but strong.

If you're worried about Mid Range, I shuffle out Jeweled Scarab and Dark Peddler out for some more taunt cards, like Saronite Chain Gang or Corpsetaker.

Combo Mulligans

The first three should be obvious. Rin is a more of a complicated choice, since she takes time to get going, but if your opponent hasn't drawn everything, you can obliterate their deck and win in fatigue.

Control Mulligans

Your best chance against control is to stall. Many of them go to fatigue, and you have the means to keep yourself healthy for a while. Thanks to Rin, you might win before you draw your deck, even.

This deck does have a few 1 health minions, which against Control Mage, you might want to draw early over these.

The deck is largely based off of burning through your own HP to draw, stalling the enemy for as long as possible, and getting your combo. Once you get both Bloodbloom and Mecha’Thun, you play the Emperor, and boom.

The actual end combo is exactly the same as normal Mecha’Thunlock, just with a 9 cost Mecha’Thun followed by 1 cost Bloodbloom into Cataclysm instead of 8 and 2. So long as you’ve drawn out your deck, which shouldn’t take long with the 1 cost hero power and the few draw cards in the deck, your hand hardly matters.

This has more of a control bent than most Mecha’Thun decks which rely on rushing to the objective- priest being the most notorious with an almost reliable turn 11 win. With Demonic Pact, Gnomeferatu, and Dirty Rat, though, it should be easier to defeat the combo decks before they become an issue.

Kazakus and Reno could easily be stripped out if you really didn’t want to go full meme, and you could remove Dirty Rat as well to make it playable outside wild, but let’s be real, memes are life. This deck is a triple meme, and I could only make it more by finding a way to slip in Jaraxus somewhere. Unfortunately, I can’t, and with Sacrificial Pact back in the meta thanks to Demonic Project, it would be a bad idea anyway.

Tchuss.

Since the deck already is very expensive … I’m pretty sure you missed out on Imperator Thaurissan instead of Brewmaster?
