Mulligans

General Mulligans

These are cards which work well in every match up. They can protect you in the early game, and put on some pressure. Call to arms is still very good post-nerf and can really thin your deck to get you to your late game cards sooner. It also puts on a lot of pressure. You want a solid turn 4, but need 2 drops more. Stonehill Defender is the only thing to save your 1 and 2 drops, but you need 2 drops more than 3 and 4.

Aggro Mulligans

You still want to keep every card in the general mulligan, but want more defensive cards like Truesilver and Crystalsmith Kangor. Pyromancer and Consecration are very effective board clears versus decks like Odd Paladin and Zoo Warlock. Wild Pyromancer works especially well with The Coin.

Control Mulligans

Versus control and slower decks, you can keep late game value cards to never run out of steam. But, you need the early game pressure to try to exhaust them of their resources. You can keep up with slower late game decks, but not forever.

It works in the Meta

This deck made to beat up all the slower control decks, and be able to stand up to aggro very well. The revisions to this deck has made it more late game oriented to beat the heavy value decks in the late game, like Deathrattle Hunter. It is a midrange deck, but with more of a control & value oriented gameplan. This deck also has a very unique (and underrated) draw engine, which is Countess Ashmore

Card Choices & Changes

After many games against all the tier 1 meta-net decks, I made quite a few revisions to this decks. One of the biggest changes I made was taking out Blessing of Kings. This had some really good synergy with cards like Corpsetaker and Vicious Scalehide. But it felt weak in a lot of faster matchups, and only preformed well versus Druid. If you are seeing a lot of Druid, I would recommend going back to my more aggressive version with Blessing of Kings instead of BonemareBonemare works really well because you have a fairly sticky board in the late game with Call to ArmsStonehill Defender and your paladin hero power. It can also land on targets that really love the buff, such as Zilliax or Crystalsmith Kangor. Even Windfury Harpy. Another change I made to the deck was adding Zola the Gorgon and Uther of the Ebon Blade . I cut out the midgame cards like Saronite Chain Gang to add a more value/control late game. This allows me to survive versus the King Krushs and Lich Kings of the meta. While Zola the Gorgon is most certianly not the best card for this deck, and there are better thing that could go in, I like the card too much to take it out. It has won me multiple games where I land it on a Bonemare or a Corpsetaker. To replace it, you can just put back in a Blessing of Kings or Saronite Chain Gang

Replacements & Matchups

To make the deck faster:

If you are facing a lot of Druids and Warriors, you would want to make similar changes as these:

Out – Uther of the Ebon Blade Bonemare (x2) Zola the Gorgon

In – More 2 Drops (Dire Wolf AlphaKnife Juggler) and cards like Blessing of Kings.

If you are facing a lot of odd warrior, then you might want to take out Bonemare and put in Saronite Chain Gang. This will let you multiply Val'anyr to get a lot of value.
