Mulligans

Aggro Mulligans

Against aggro, try to mulligan for earlier plays and defensive spells to stop their horde of creatures from growing too large and strong.

Midrange Mulligans

Against midrange decks or a mirror match, try to mulligan for both defensive plays and strong tempo ones. The one card that you really want in your opening hand is Twilight Drake, since you have cards that synergize with holding Dragons and because it can be a very strong play if you have a large hand.

Control Mulligans

Against control, you're looking to out-tempo them as soon as possible through card generation and overstatted minions like Twilight drake. You also want to stop their big plays from resolving through the use of Crowd Roaster, which excels in removing a single large minion.

This deck focuses on surviving the early game with defensive spells and early, strong plays, then focuses on generating cards and outvaluing your opponent using cards like Dragoncaller Alanna, Frost Lich Jaina, and Hex Lord Malacrass. This is a good deck to play if you enjoy a more midrange-y type of control mage.
