This deck was my main through the S56. It was gone through several iteration through the month mainly based on my experiences and the streams of J Alexander. J Alexander is an expert of Rogue I have to say and really a funny guy. He just played a lot with deathrattle Rogue during the season but my deck is not exactly the one he used. We found different consequences but it is expected as he is in legend 100 usually and has 8000+ wins with rogue.
I preferred to use the Corpstaker version of the deck. It saved me in a lot of times and also win me several games. I have some remarkable match where an early Corpsetaker with coin and a Cold Blood totally destroyed a ramping Druid. J A totally missed the Stormwatcher in the final version of his deck, I keep it. Of course it is not good in starting hand and also, with one windfury the risk of having it (and Corpstaker loose the possibility to became WF) is bigger. But there is also the chance to get it and without Stormwatcher the chance is 0%. Also, there were several times where I had 6 Stormwatcher by using Cube and Necrium Vial and that was a pain in the ass (and not for me).
Explanation for some cards:
Fire Fly vs. Argent Squire: Divine shield for Corpsetaker. My feeling is the Fire Fly is better only against Odd Pala but that match-up is lost anyway. Combo activation is needed only for Cold Blood and that is only one mana, that can be activated with a Cube, so not using a cheap card to activate a big combo but a big card to activate a cheap one.
Tar Creeper vs. Bronze Gatekeeper: It is still a question for me. In some match-up the Tar Creeper is better (Odd Pala and Odd Rogue) but the Bronze Gatekeeper has lot of synergies wit the mech inside. Saved me a lot of times. Also saved my Zilliax several times. And with Cold Blood it can be aggressive (but it is true for Tar Creeper too).
Backstab: It is another question. It is not good just in several times. No need combo activator. I did not find better things. I tried Evis and Deadly Poison but it was not fully satisfied.
Vilespine Slayer: I tried two and one in the deck. It is a very good Rogue card but in this deck not that impactfull. If we take over the control on board in any way (with dinosaurs or dragons) we usually able to solve anything.
Vicious Scalehide: I do not really like this in the deck but I hate less as I hate a Corpsetaker without lifesteal.
Gluttonous Ooze: I tried several tech. card here (MCTech, Void Ripper) but, due to the fact I had the most pain because of weapons Ooze stayed. I tried 2x Acidic Swamp Ooze but switched back.
I tried a way different kind of deck where the three drops (Bronze Gatekeeper, Ooze) and Scalehide were dropped and put aggressive card there as Hench-Clan Thug. It also good target for Cube. In this case, 2x Acidic Ooze, 2x Thug and 2x Fledging (take out Corpsetaker) cause a hybrid deck. It was more aggressive. Still I can not decide which one was better.
