I run flare just to counter all the secret decks out there. It also works well with archmage 

Masters call isnt as good but it can still be used to draw cards and if you have a turn you dont have to do anything on just play the  masters call and hope for the 3 beasts.

spirit of the lynx works really well with unleash the hounds and revenge of the wild and all the other beasts you would normally play. It does counter the masters call but it is defenitely worth putting the spirit of the lynx in for all the other synergies

deadly shot can kill all the early mountain giants by mage and it works really well with archmage killing 2 other enemy minions for 7 mana
