Mulligans
General Mulligans
Always mulligan against a hypothetical aggro-opponent, because control decks can be easier to go up against.
Play this. It is good.
Warlock has a a wide array of control elements to it. Up to now, we didn´t have a good way to utilise them but now he is here: Mecha´Cthun; and he is amazing.
The early game is all about drawing cards and now dying. The not dying part can be callenging against aggro decks, but its a piece of cake against control decks. “Mecha´Cthun OTK” eats control decks. A standart game can be divided in 3 sections:
1. drawing cards to get to your combo pieces
2. healing and taunting yourself
3. clearing the enemy board
It should be statet, that there is absolutely no need to go face. So only go face if there is nothing else to trade for or if you think your opponent could get suspicious (but what is he gonna do anyways).
1. Drawing cards to get to your combo pieces
Kobold Librarian – this is your only “draw a card”-card. Amazing to get your combo pieces asap.
Your combo pieces are Hemet, Jungle Hunter, Dark Pact and a optional Galvanizer. Opzional? Yes; depents on wheater or not you go second and have the coin. Having the coin enables a one turn OTK with Mecha´Cthun and Dark Pact. If you dont have the coin; just discount your Mecha´Cthun with the Galvanizer.
The combo goes as follows:
+Draw Dark Pact (keep it – you need only one thought),
+Draw Hemet,
+have a coin OR draw a Galvanizer,
+use all your cards AND have enought mana for the Combo (it´s 10 mana OR 9 Mana if you have the coin AND Galvanizer),
DON´t forget to clear your board (Corrupting Mist and Curse of Weakness can do wonders,
+Play the one and only Mecha´Cthun and Dark Pact him. win.
+ggez
2. healing and taunting yourself
In order to win and not lose (which is what you´re after I guess) you need to not die. this deck is not perfect by any means. It only represents the ideas of our Lord and Saviour Mecha-dude; so feel free to add and remove cards as you like.
Voidwalker – Amazing cheap taunt.
Voodoo Doctor – Decent cheap heal. Because you generally want to heal your face and not your minions (you just need them to traid against possibly bigger threats anyway) I prefer this card over Fungal Enchanter.
Wax Elemental – It´s cheap. And it prevents your opponent from going face. Just be careful to not mess up your combo by still having one on the field and not beying able to destroy it.
Doomsayer – This card is the light in your darkest days.
Earthen Ring Farseer – using your hero power can be pretty life-consuming (that was intended). So regenerating some of this life could mean the difference between a win or a loss.
Tar Creeper – Once bullies kept hitting me in the face. So I played Tar Creeper. Other than in the real life, here it actually works.
3. clearing the enemy board
The best way to stop your enemy from killing you, is by killing or disablinghis pesky little underlings. These cards do exactly that.
Glacial Shard – good if you want to lockdown a big threat. Can be used in conjunction with Corrupting Mist to buy a turn or two.
Corrupting Mist – This can be played in conjunction with your taunts. Feel free to use it even on just one or two enemy minions. Thats the best way to keep his board small and your face secure(r).
Curse of Weakness – This card can buy you a turn. Just that. But it´s very effective.
Defile – Some well placed trades into a perfectly placed Defile can mean the difference between a good and a great Hearthstone Player.
Drain Soul – Nowadays everybody uses taunts to protect there face-machines. This can kill them.
