Extremely consistent demon control warlock. Does very well against aggro rogue and aggro/spell hunter. Knowing match-ups is important. I’ll do a full guide later but for now I’ll try and do a quick guide, focusing mostly on the mulligan, the most important part of the game.
MULLIGAN
VS AGGRO
Mortal Coil: Aggro runs a lot of 1 hp minions that you can get free card draw off of with Mortal Coil and it can also set up for sick defiles later on.
Kobold Librarian: Great card to drop on turn 1. Contests aggro’s early minions and draws a card and can upgrade your Lesser Amethyst Spellstone.
Mistress of Mixtures: Contests aggro too well. Also heals. You often tap twice and then heal with this card to recover the HP you lost.
Defile: The best card in the game against aggro. Make sure you can do quick maffs.
Hellfire: It used to not be so good, but with the Hunter’s new spellstone and Paladins running Call to Arms, it’s definitely worth keeping against those two classes.
VS CONTROL
Kobold Librarian: He’s back. He’s the best card you can keep in your hand. A real hero.
Mistress of Mixtures: Can’t go wrong with her on turn one either. Then you just tap tap tap tap…
Chittering Tunneler: You don’t have many minions. Dropping a minion that discovers another card on turn 3 is pretty good.
Possessed Lackey: You already know man. Possessed Lackey into Voidlord is the dream but I’ll also take Despicable Dreadlord or Abyssal Enforcer any day.
Rin, The First Disciple: I wanted to play this card so badly. It’s so damn cool. It’s the most anti-tempo piece of garbage though. I don’t even know if this is good. But it’s fun when you destroy their deck. Definitely can hard counter Quest Mage or Highlander Priest if they haven’t drawn their combo cards.
Bloodreaver Gul’dan/N’zoth, The Corruptor: Keep one of these in your starting hand. Keep Bloodreaver over N’zoth if you have the option of both. Keeping both is too greedy.
