Counter Aggro Paladin

This deck is designed to take advantage of mage’s strongest cards in the current meta whilst retaining the capacity to hold off the early storm from aggressive decks.

I have excluded the standard Secret Mage steamroll cards (Corridor Creeper, Kabal Crystal Runner and Firelands Portal) in favor of a build which employs heavy discounts and card generation to smother the opponent.

Against aggressive decks an early Primordial Glyph enables you to select a board clear which the Leyline Manipulator can discount so you can clear on turn 5 (and plan to follow up on 6 with Blizzard/Meteor). The Arcane Artificer in conjunction with a barrage of spells gives us enough armor to either exhaust the opponent or bring on FLJ to kill the game.

Against control decks we use massive card generation to counter our opponents’ plays. Sometimes we will out-tempo them for an early win and sometimes FLJ will bleed them dry.

The decks occasional failures due to unfortunate RNG are more than compensated for by a boosted win-rate against Mage’s worst matchups.
