    Shaman

Hi guys, I based this deck list from JIMMYRAYNOR idea to create a fatigue control Shaman. I am especially excited for the new legendaries Swampqueen Hagatha and Archivist Elysiana and their interactions with Shudderwock. I wanted to (attempt to) improve on JIMMYRAYNOR original list where the most criticism received was the lack of card draw.

The win condition behind this deck is outlive your opponent through fatigue. You draw your entire deck and then play Elysiana. This replenishes your deck to 10 cards. JIMMYRAYNOR original list includes Chef Nomi in this combo but I didn’t like Chef Nomi because almost all of the time it is just a dead card in your hand, where I would prefer to have something more useful. Instead of Chef Nomi I included Shudderwock which I feel has a lot more synergy and can call on really strong battlecries and further re-replenish 10 random cards to extend the fatigue.

The early and mid game strategy is about staying alive and cycling through your deck. Your survival tools include Witch's Brew, Lightning Storm, Hex, and Zilliax. Where your card draw comes from Mana Tide Totem, Far Sight and Bloodmage Thalnos.

A comment left on JIMMYRAYNOR original list mentioned using Countess Ashmore and including Walking Fountain in the list. Ashmore can thin out the deck by getting the Fountains, Safeguard, and Zilliax.

Once you get to the late game you can start using your value cards and setting up your Shudderwock combo with Swampqueen Hagatha and Stormsurge Electra. I’ve also added Krag'wa, the Frog in this list I thought to be a very flexible value card. Krag’wa has nice synergies with Electra and Hagatha the Witch. Especially if you draw your Sludge Slurper late into the game and get a few extra spells from Hagatha’s hero power by dumping your Slurpers and Lackey’s.

An interaction that can counter this deck is if the meta decides to run Hecklebot which can give your opponent two chances to pull out your Shudderwock or Archivist Elysiana killing your win condition. I’ve decided to add Barista Lynchen as an attempt to counter this, giving you a second chance at pulling off your combo assuming your opponent doesn’t remove the card Hecklebot pulled out.

You could substitute Lynchen for Archmage Vargoth I thought Vargoth could give you more survivability and deck-cycling during the mid-game having synergies with Lightning Storm, Far Sight and some extra value with Haunting Visions. It is also something your opponent has to consider dealing with and can absorb some damage in the early game. I would consider running Chef Nomi if you were going to include Vargoth instead. Although, I prefer Lynchen, they have good synergy with Shudderwock, potentially returning your Elysiana, Swampqueen, Frog or Stormsurge for even more value.

Ultimately this deck idea looks really fun to play and I think has potential on the ladder since the meta is shaping out to be value based. I want to give credit to JIMMYRAYNOR creating the original concept and list, make sure you guys check out their list and let me know what you think! 😀
