Mulligans

General Mulligans

All you want to be doing early is ramp and draw. These are the cards that let you do it, plus get you some armor and minion protection to survive the early game.

Aggro Mulligans

You need your removal and taunt tools for Aggro. A ramp into Spreading Plague early can win you the game if they haven’t yet drawn Void Ripper.

Control Mulligans

You can be a bit greedier here. Ramp is the most important, by far, but if you’ve got ramp, then you can keep your two most important combo cards.

I really enjoy the Token Druid playstyle but, as a (mostly) F2P player, haven’t gotten the right pack luck to play the full version. So I developed a variant that only uses two copies of a single epic, one that’s from the year of the Raven so it’s a better craft for budget players than the expensive soon-to-rotate cards like the death knight or Ultimate Infestation or Branching Paths.

You really do need two copies of Wispering Woods  for the deck to work. Otherwise, you just can’t generate enough tokens for your Soul of the Forest and buffs. But beyond that, you can play with the distribution of rares based on what cards you have in your collection. Giggling Inventor, for example, works great in this deck (try subbing for Mulchmuncher, which is the weakest rare in here I think). I haven’t tried this, but I bet some of the cards that generate goblin bombs could work pretty well too. You can also sub in some cheaper removal or silence, like Naturalize or Spellbreaker, in place of the spell stones.

Anyway, I’ve had some success playing against ladder decks with this variant — not as much as with my meta decks, but it’s surprisingly decent even without the expensive cards. Making it to Legend with this is probably a fool’s errand, but if you want to try laddering on a budget I bet you can get pretty far with this.
