Mulligans
General Mulligans
Always keep Flamestrike and Spiteful Summoner if you get them. Followed by Archmage Arugal or any low cost minions. Most important is the Flame Strike. This is used to clear dude minions and help make sure Spiteful summons a 10 cost minion.
Aggro Mulligans
For aggro decks make sure you have Volatile Elemental, Tar Creeper and Shimmering Tempest as they all provide you with ways to slow down the game until turn 5, 6 or 7.
Against odd/even decks, keep mindbreaker
Mage
Win Condition:
There are multiple win conditions in this deck:
- Frost Lich Jaina with a bunch of elemental hitting for lifesteal
- Spiteful Summoner with 7 Mana or 10 mana summon. If you have flame strike in hand, it will be 100% 10 mana
- Pyroblast x 2 into face
Card Highlights:
Archmage Arugal – is not really needed. It can however give you an edge if you are running low on cards. Can be substituted for something else if need be.
Acidic Swamp Ooze – Dont use it against Warlock or Rogue or Paladin until they play a wapone
Pyros – This card trades well so it is worth having in the deck. However, if you are on a budget, you can run some other elemental in this slot.
Mindbreaker – This card bullies odd/even decks especially when coupled with Tar Creeper.
Voodoo Doll – Doll a major target and ping it with your hero power. 5 Mana removal. Only down-side is proc of deathrattle effect. If you are concerned about that, use a Spellbreaker on the target instead
Baron Geddon – Not really needed either. This card is here as a safety mechanism. Play Frost Lich Jaina first and then Baron after. The lifesteal coupled with board clear is all you need to win sometimes. Alternatives to this card would include Cauldron Elemental, Deranged Doctor, Bonemare or (if you are into some extra memeing) try Grand Archivist
Notes:
- Make sure to chain your Elementals properly to get the extra effect.
- Keep the coin in your hand and play it with Spiteful Summoner –> Turn 5 and insta win.
