Mulligans
Combo Mulligans
Not had any Combo match ups yet but would assume rushing the quest would be the best idea here, if combo becomes meta, it may be worth swapping a Whirlwind for the new echo taunt minion to push the quest completion!
Hey everyone, hope you enjoy the deck, it has very few weak points to be seen so far but it is very early in the meta. Lets have a quick run down of the deck.
Although a dead draw once the game is started, the extra armor that the upgraded hero power provides gives amazing defensive capabilities and enables the use of Reckless Flurry as an amazingly cheap anti-aggro tool. You are able to play the equivalent of a turn 5 Flamestrike, turn 4 with the coin. Also works brilliantly with Shield Slam for single target removal. The excess armour also works wonders for the weapons included in the deck, meaning you can trade for days with Gorehowl
So we already have great board clears to shut down aggro, what about control? Fire Plume's Heart gives almost infinite value meaning those control match-ups are suddenly a walk in the park. There are very few (if any) decks that can out value a Taunt Warrior.
With the addition of legendary weapons, there are many good choices for Molten Blade and they are hit rather often with there being such a small pool of cards in rotation at the moment. Twig of the World Tree and Val'anyr are brilliant options depending on which point in the game you are.
Match-Ups
Aggro – A lot of these match ups are very easy wins, with the board clears and abundance of taunts, they struggle to even touch face after turn 3 or 4. Baku hunter, which seems to be very popular at the moment, struggles to get through your taunts and your hero power keeps you at full health when they are trying to poke with their hero power.
Tempo – I have lost a couple of games to tempo elemental mage, but I didn’t draw my board clears in time, hard mulligan for Reckless Flurry in these match-ups.
Mid-Range – I have not had many Mid-Range match ups so far except for a few CubeLocks, which can be a pain, and HandDruid, which cannot touch you at all. I have been considering dropping a Whirlwind or two for Ironbeak Owl to shut down the CubeLocks
Control – Nothing to say here, you should win every time!
I have found that I am barely using Whirlwind so let me know how you get on with it and suggest any substitutions.
Thanks and have fun!
