I’m also pretty new to the genre – I’ve played original Dota Auto Chess and Underlords before, but maybe 25-30 games in total, so that’s not much. Then I’ve played 70-80 games of Battlegrounds over the last week 🙂

It was only confirmed that the pool is there. We don’t know how does selling minions back, getting triples, magnetizing or discovering them instead of buying from Tavern affect card pools. And it’s pretty much impossible for individual players to figure that out 🙁 Maybe HSReplay or Vicious Syndicate will do statistics for Battlegrounds too, then we will learn more. Or maybe the devs will share more info.

Edit: Apparently, one of the official tips (the ones shown when you load into game) says that when you sell the minion back, it returns to the pool! So that one is certain 🙂

That’s a tough one. I would say that it depends on how healthy you are. If you’re doing good health-wise and you don’t risk dying, I would prioritize a rank up to get access to better minions next turn. If you’re struggling and you might die soon, you should probably re-roll as much as you can and try to improve your board immediately.

That’s true – you can get gold by playing the mode (although very slowly) – it’s just not a gameplay tip 🙂

There are three “cross-rewards” between Battlegrounds and regular HS. You need to get packs from latest expansion to unlock them, but Descent of Dragons is already counted as one (so right one the only way to unlock them is pre-ordering).

At 10 packs, you get access to extra statistics (but the feature is not yet unlocked, it says that it will be available when game is out of beta). At 20 packs you get to pick from 3 instead of 3 Heroes at the start of every game. And then at 30 packs you get access to in-game stickers/emotes (I honestly never use them). Realistically the only relevant one is 20 packs – extra Hero, because you have a higher chance to get some good Hero (but honestly, even with 2 you rarely pick between two bad Heroes and you can win games even with the bad ones).

I think that there is an in-game progress bar, but I’m not sure if it fills with every pack or just when you hit 10 pack thresholds, because I pre-ordered and it filled all at once 🙂

I don’t know how long exactly, but definitely not only the first day.

The thing is that you seem to be operating under a premise that every Zoo is an Aggro deck, which is not necessarily true. We had multiple slower Zoo builds in that past that were successful. After KFT, we had Zoo builds running Bloodreaver Gul’dan, and they were some of the best versions at the time. Yes, a 10 mana cards. Same builds were also running Bonemare and a few other expensive cards. The fact that current Zoo plays Aggro doesn’t meant that you have to play it like that. Over the years, many builds were leaning heavily towards Midrange. I agree that Galakrond would not fit into the current Zoo build, but it will be a completely new and different deck.

I also don’t think that upgrading it is a problem. In Galakrond build, you would run A LOT of Invoke cards, because they would line up with your regular game plan too thanks to triggering the Hero Power. The fact that you don’t need to have it in your hand to upgrade it means that usually by the time you draw it (which is not always before T7), it will be already upgraded or maybe one card away from it. And even if you do draw it too early, you have one “dead” card for a few turns at most – which is, like I’ve mentioned in the review, similar to Leeroy. You also hold him for a few turns quite often, and you can use both to finish up matches.

Actually, Hero Power is one of the things I’m most disappointed by (2x 1/1 is not a bad one, but it’s not that impactful in the late game), but summoning 4 random Demons is an underestimated effect. On average, you’re getting at least two bigger bodies that your opponent has to deal with AND a 5/2 weapon. It’s unlikely he will be able to answer it all.

Of course, we’ll see how it works in practice, but I have really high hopes for the deck.

The latest patch seems to be buggy as hell. They’ve been adding lots of features this year, but at the same time introduced even more bugs :/ Last night I didn’t get my daily quest – now I’ve got it, but I can’t reroll them. I get Disconnected commonly and then I have troubles logging back in. Like you’ve mentioned, most of my decks are unplayable and I need to remake them. I hope that it all gets fixed soon.

At least Battlegrounds are fun 🙂

When winners are shown, next to their name there is an exact winning entry’s number (like entry #44135 – it means that this one entry was rolled at random and won), not the total amount of entries they had. Maybe he got those confused.

Yeah, the chances in those giveaways are always low, because thousands of people fight over a few codes. But it doesn’t really cost you anything to participate. It’s really up to you.
