HSReplay, which collects data for more games than any other resource I’m aware of, also has this matchup as favored for the Zoo Warlock (~54%). It looks a little worse for Zoo against strict Control Warlock, but Cubelock seems to be favored.

Both are strong choices right now, so it’s really a matter of preference.

Several meta reports cite this as one of the best, if not THE best, archetypes in the Standard format right now. This particular list should be more than viable beyond Rank 5.

All of the cards in this list are Standard legal. Dire Wolf Alpha is a good card in this deck if you’re missing anything though.

Poisonous off of Gentle Megasaur is your best shot with the deck as is. Many aggro lists are also starting to tech in Spellbreaker(s) to better deal with the now-prevalent Voidlords, but this list is a bit tight already.

Spreading Plague can be rough, but the matchup is highly favored for the Aggro Druid.

It’s partially the fact that the 1/2 body is too fragile in the early game whereas a 1/5 can soak up a lot of damage in Aggro mirrors and remain on board to receive buffs. Sometimes, you’d also rather not have the Taunt on your Poisonous minion so you can dictate the trades for the kill.

Stats also suggest that Bittertide Hydra outperforms Cobalt Scalebane in Druid so I would disagree that the latter is always better. Often, you’re playing the beefy 5-drop because you just lost the board. In those circumstances, Bittertide is better.

HSReplay stats seem to suggest running both is better in Aggro Druid. If I had to pick one for the deck, it’d be Corsair.

FWIW, when sorting Aggro Druid decks by win rate, the overwhelming majority of lists have at least one Captain. Individual stats for Captain in Druid aren’t great, but the card seems to perform better than other common inclusions at the 3-mana slot.

Following the link it appears to be the Satellite/Big Spell Priest that’s being categorized by Metastats as an older archetype. This is likely because it’s so new and the algorithm doesn’t yet have a definition for the archetype yet.

Medivh isn’t necessary for this deck. Really, only the 2x Firelands Portals synergize with him so the payoff usually isn’t big enough to warrant an 8 mana 7/7.

Bonemare provides additional tempo in the form of immediate stats on board, so he’s a little more in line with what this deck is trying to accomplish. Antonidas is a good card, but doesn’t synergize with this deck since there are few cheap spells. Typically, it has enough burn to get wins without him.

Yeah, Patches is still far and away the most popular Legendary in the game, indicating there are still a lot of Pirates out there. If you’re running into a lot of these decks and/or Cubelock those seem like reasonable tech choices.

Skull of Man’ari is too slow for what this deck is looking to accomplish. Passing on turn 5 to get the value train running often will get you too far behind on board. While you don’t want to just jam Doomguard willy-nilly, there are many matchups where discarding Gul’dan isn’t as important as the tempo gain of a 5 mana 5/7 Charge. What helped me deal with Discarding important cards was when I began to equate it to never drawing the cards to begin with.

It is always annoying drawing Patches, but the upside of a 3 mana for 5/5 worth of stats fits really well in this deck. Life Tap helps offset the fact that Patches is such a dead draw.

Cobalt Scalebane.

I have a Budget Zoo Warlock list you might want to check out that goes deeper into replacements (including Malcheezar’s Imp). Bloodsail Corsair, Fire Fly, Blood Imp, and Argent Squire would all be good replacements.

Jaraxxus is a bit too slow and doesn’t quite fit in this deck. I would recommend either of the options in the Card Substitutions sections, Tar Creeper or Vicious Fledgling.

Skull of Man’ari is a staple in Cubelock, a top tier deck, and sees more play than Aluneth right now. Val’anyr is included in some play in Aggro Paladin list, though its efficacy is a bit in question. Kingsbane is seeing some fringe play in less competitive decks. Even Rhok’delar has a positive win rate associated with it.

Sure, the weapons aren’t quite on par with the Hero Cards we saw in Knights of the Frozen Throne, but they’re a bit better than you’re giving credit for. Either way, we tend to be more conservative with the cards we consider safe to disenchant this soon after a release. More weapons are likely to make the list, but this early, things are still a bit too in flux to say with certainty that they’re safe to DE.
