Except in Wild it has 2 of the 4 strongest decks. But yeah, not much going on in Standard.

Is there any known information if the won cards while ranking up will still be golden like they are now? I doubt it because that would be too much dust from Blizzard’s side. 😉

And I understand that correctly: With the start of the new year, if I disenchant any card from any expansion, the only possibility I can get that card again is to re-craft it, right?

Edit: Just looked after that leak. I have to admit, looks pretty refined (especially the DH cards, even if the Basic ones seem kinda strong). So… I ‘fear’ those leaks are true. :/

Still sticking with my guess that they’ll overhaul the concept of Basic and Classic Set, routing for a MtG direction with some sort of Core Set (mix of ‘reprints’ and new cards).

Jupp, my guess as well. They will announce a complete overhaul to the concept of Basic and Classic Set. In addition to announcing the new year / expansion, that is.

Sorry, but as long as you’re not a donkey (yes, I’m debasing donkeys here) anyone can play BG on an acceptable level. The reason why Pros are on top is simply because they grind that play mode all day long.

And yes, your argument on ladder ranking is valid. That’s the reason why I only grinded for legend once (card back collector) and now play ’til R5.

In the end, I still don’t understand the relevance of those statistics; as I mentioned, the official rankings give a reasonable overview over the very best players in each mode.

It’s a nearly completely random game mode with nothing to ‘win’ except having fun (this, sadly, often mitigated by said randomness).

And yes, I know that ‘having fun’ for some people means being the best. 😉 But those should be covered by Blizzards officiall ranking.

I disagree. In a world where a highlander deck is only 30 cards and there are so many alternatives to put in such a deck, the downside of playing singletons is long mitigated, if not completely removed.

And Zephrys and Queen Alex even being played in non-highlander decks (albeit standard only) shows that you don’t even have to play singletons.

So yeah, I’m with Repellista – even if I crafted Zephrys golden on day 1. It’s an unfun card.

I’m very confident that the ‘groundshaking developments that will cement the game for the next 10 years’ announced at that Hearthstone Summit include the long due overhaul of the Basic and Classic Set concept. They will make a new basic set with rotating ‘reprints’ and some new cards, just like MtG does. Which in turn makes the concept of HoFing obsolete.

Don’t get it. Burglery and Galakrond in one deck?

I wonder if I overlooked that: Data is taken from which servers? Or is it all servers combined? Because metagames are fairly different on different servers, I think.

Not that it’s important, but Freeze Mage (+1 Cone of Cold -1 Zephrys) also works perfectly fine for the battle against Rafaam / Galakrond. Just wait with all the freezes until Rafaam transforms into Galakrond, then permafreeze enemy board until you draw your combo.
