Deck Import

Soooo, what is that all about?

Alright, lets step right in!

This is a Kazakus Mage that tries to stall the board, create arkward turns for your enemy and Wins the lategame.

I always considered Frost Lich Jaina Decks not that viable, because i am one of the unlucky players who never actually draws Jaina. So we start from there.

How to make a Kazakus Frost Lich Deck more consistent? Right. Carddraw… And we need quite a bit to consistently get Jaina before the Game is going on for too long to come back, but remember, we still got Kazakus for some comeback plays, but we rather dont want to rely on it too much.

Carddecisions

CARDDRAW:

  • Arcanologist – obviously a must have and great mechanic to catch like an iceblock
  • Arcane Intellect – pretty straight forward carddraw
  • Coldlight Oracle – great synergy with The Curator
  • The Curator – ok… who would put THAT in a Kazakus Mage?

Alright, back to the question: “Why the heck is there a Curator in this deck?”

First of all, we usually want to have a way to pull out Alextrasza because there are some aggressive Decks out there that try to ruin our day. If we dont hit Alex, we usually get Sindragosa if we havent drawn both of ’em already, which is still quite nice, because it increases our chance to draw Frost Lich Jaina.

Second of all – we want carddraw to have a better chance in pulling out Frost Lich Jaina, so we are happy to pick up a Coldlight Oracle. I dont see potential in any other Murloc for this Deck, so the Murloc-Slot is just taken once.

Third of all – we want to stall and create arkward turns for our enemy, where the beasts come into play… A Giant Wasp and a Stubborn Gastropod. *and you tell me that you are not smoking the wrong stuff dude?* – Well, the “2 Mana Taunt – remove an enemy minion or draw a spell from enemy hand” and it´s stealthed brother dont mess around. They get consistent value by trading bigger threats or “removal starve” your enemy while only being small minions themselves.

… So far so good… Drawing cards to increase the odds of getting Frost Lich Jaina, while also drawing out keycards and cheap “removalminions” … So what is the general plan to survive the enemies early to midturns to survive until the valuegame?

STALL:

  • Frostbolt – cheap freeze / removal
  • Doomsayer – heal for 7 or, combined with freeze / taunt a viable boardclear
  • Frostnova / Blizzard – great in combination with Doomsayer, also not bad if combined with Baron Geddon to sneak in a second “healturn” (while being Frost Lich Jaina)
  • Tar Creeper / Second Rate Bruiser / Avian Watcher – good taunt minions that usually get a lot of value for cheap mana – especially in those matchups where the enemy is pressuring and you need manaefficient stalls (both Druid variants, Shaman, Hunter???)
  • Infested Tauren – with its 4/5 overall stats for 4 Mana not the very best of Minions to pick up, but Synergizes pretty well wit your N’Zoth and makes your N’Zoth turn more reliable
  • And last but not least – Icebarrier / Iceblock

The Tar Creeper, being a 3/5 Taunt with Elemental-tag synergize well with the stall – archetype of our deck, as well as the 3 Mana 4/5 Second Rate Bruiser (conditional, but if your enemy is pressuring you, it usually is 3 Mana, and if he does not… well… good for you, i guess?!) and Avian Watcher. – 5 Mana 4/7 Taunt (pretty reliable, not much to say)

And if your stall is not enough, we have to remove…

REMOVAL:

  • Fireball – good removal, not much to say
  • Polymorph – the swiss knive of removal, synergizes well with Frost Lich Jainas Heroability
  • Kazakus – the ultimate removal in a lot of cases, great for swingturns
  • Meteor – If a Minion is annoying… you know what to do
  • Volcanic Potion / Blizzard – pretty good against Aggro Decks
  • Doomsayer / poisonous Minions – we already spoke about that, you know?

“I am not happy with some of your choices… What to consider to play instead?” – Well that is up to you, but here some suggestions that may work… There are reasons i did not put ’em in the deck, but you might try them out and test yourself!

Replacements

CARDS TO (at least) LOOK AT:

  • Babbling Book – adds Spell and is target for Frost Lich Jainas Heroability
  • Mistress of Mixtures – Heal and N’Zoth target
  • Bloodmage Thalnos – Spellpower, Carddraw and target for Frost Lich Jainas Heroability
  • Manic Soulcaster – greed
  • Elise the Trailblazer – value and less fatigue
  • Firelands Portal – value and removal
  • Flamestrike – removal
  • Bonemare – swingturns and heal-elemental-buff
  • Inkmaster Solia – swingturns
  • Medivh the Guardian – value and greed
  • Yogg-Saron –   … FUN …

With the Deck ideas being (hopefully) clear – test it out yourself and give me some feedback!
