MULLIGAN PRIORITY:

ALWAYS KEEP: Secret Passage and Swindle are the best cards in the deck. They're great turn one if you have some sort of mana generation to go with it. Shroud of Concealment is our only tutor in the deck. Either it finds a combo piece or an Armor Vendor or two combo pieces.

OFTEN KEEP: Random draw spells. Digging through your deck is good. They're not the best cards in the deck, but they're far from the worst.

MATCHUP DEPENDENT: Armor Vendor, Cloak of Shadows Evasion. These are great if you think you're going to be going against a really aggressive deck such as Beast Hunter. Otherwise toss them.

NEVER KEEP: Minions that are combo pieces. It may seem counter-intuitive, but combo-pieces[Except Anka] are a dead card until you're ready to go, which is often 5 turns or more. It's better to find cards that actively help you get to your win-condition.

GAMEPLAN:

The goal is to survive for as long as possible and to play a few key cards before playing Majordomo Executus and becoming Ragnaros, the Firelord. Afterwards we play Tess Greymane which will allow us to infinitely survive and whittle our opponent down with Ragnaros’ Hero Power.

In order to do this, we need to play a few cards in order for this combo to work:

  • Cloak of Shadows is to prevent us from being targeted by anything. It will shut down any board-based decks and decks like Reno Paladin.
  • Evasion. We won’t be able to survive against some decks with just Cloak of Shadows. That’s where Evasion comes in. Evasion prevents non-targeted strategies from hurting us like Sunset Volley.
  • Kingsbane seems like an odd card in this deck, no? It has one purpose: Preventing Fatigue. With Tess, she will repeatedly play Kingsbane which will destroy the previous one and shuffle it back into our deck. And if we keep playing Kingsbane we will almost never take Fatigue damage.
  • Vanish has two uses. To save us in the early game and to allow us to keep replaying Tess. Vanish keeps putting Tess back into our hand which is how the infinite loop of her works.
  • Anka, the Buried discounts Majordomo which makes it easier to survive as it makes the combo quicker and lets us play a Cloak of Shadows and/or an Evasion along with it. Prior to the Shattershambler nerf, Anka was not needed. Now she is a necessity which makes the combo a little harder to pull off.

TIPS:

  • Against a Hunter, do NOT waste your Armor Vendors. You’ll need to save one at least for Steady Shot. That is one of the very few things that can get past both Evasion and Cloak of Shadows
  • Shattershambler is not necessary for success. You don’t need to play it unless you’re against a Demon Hunter, Mage, Priest, or a Highlander/Reno deck. All of the mentioned classes/decks have access to Silence or Polymorph effects.
