Mulligan Guide

Vs. Aggro

Against aggro decks or fast decks the key cards are defensive cards and AOE (Especially Dragon's Fury):


High priority:

- Tar Creeper

- Dragon's Fury

- Glacial Shard

Vs. Control

You can be quieter against control decks or slow decks, try to accumulate cards through the Black Cat and Bonfire Elemental. Keep a Dragon's Fury for emergency.


High priority:

- Black Cat

- Frost Lich Jaina

- Dragon's Fury


Low Priority:

Elemental Minions.

Deck Description

This is my Odd Control Elemental Mage (Standard Edition) with the cards released so far, I will modify the deck if in the coming days there will be cards that deserve to be inserted.

        Both Firefly and Glacial Shard are from Ungoro

        Firefly and Glacialshard do not rotate. The only cards that go in rotation are those belonging to: Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, Whisper of the Old Gods and One Night in Karazhan.

          I saw that video, he didn't acknowledge that stand in darkness and rallying blade were rotating, which are pretty important for dude paladin and murlocs. Interesting deck I feel like there should more burn somehow, unless the cat is just a decent cycle that sometimes makes flamestrike deal 5. You could try adding cold wraith as just a decent 3 drop that can sometimes draw a card with glacial shard. Also nightmare amalgam could fit in a 3/4 elemental 3 drop.

            I prefer the black cat to the cold wraith.
            For the cold wraith there must be a freezing and therefore the use of glacial shard, you may not have both cards in the hand. On the other hand, the cat always draw and can do 5 damage to flamestrike.
            As for nightmare amalgam I do not even like it, you are an elemental with a good body, but what would I replace? I prefer the elementals that I entered.

            For now I think this archetype can not be done better than that. I wait for all the cards of the next expansion to make a possible change.
