Mulligans

General Mulligans

Always Keep Cleric. It's your only 1 drop and your primary card draw engine.

Twilight Acolyte is a keep against warlock for mountain giants

Aggro Mulligans

Against aggro you want tar creeper and your AOE. Keep Circle + Auchenai if you have both.

Control Mulligans

Against control you really want Lady in White. She is your primary win condition and is much better if played early because she buffs your deck.

Main Win Conditions

  1. Play Lady in White then beat your opponent down with high attack high health minions like buffed Grizzly and Matriarch.
  2. Survive against aggro decks until they run out of resources or you gain enough board control to setup lethal. This deck runs 6 early game AOEs with Spirit Lash, Duskbreaker, and Auchenai + Circle plus an extra heal with Divine Hymn. Tar Creeper and Scaleworm help you fight for early board control, and against aggro your Grizzly is often a strong 3/8 or bigger taunt.
  3. Against slow control decks this deck can become the aggressor and apply enough pressure to win even without Lady in White, but your win % is definitely much lower if you don’t draw her. Cobalt Scalebane is your savior in these spots and can quickly snowball your board if left unanswered. Scalebane pairs well with your various high health minions.

Thoughts on the deck

  1. Drawing lots of cards with Cleric is really important. You are fishing for Lady and then fishing for the buffed minions so how many cards you draw with Cleric can be the difference between winning and losing. Lash + Circle/Hymn + Cleric can often get you 2-4 cards. Versus aggro lean towards get what you can get from Cleric even just one card because mana efficiency and not dying are priority #1 and you are trying to quickly draw into your AOE. Generally be greedier versus control and wait for the combo, or at least some taunt cover for your cleric.
  2. This deck runs 9 dragons because inactive Duskbreakers, Scaleworms, and Acolytes lose games, and because each of the 9 dragons fills an important role in the deck outside of dragon synergy.
  3. Matriarch deserves a special mention. It’s not a crazy powerful card on its own but it synergizes nicely with the rest of the deck. It benefits from the same cards as cleric and it’s worth noting that Matriarch + Cleric + Lash + Circle = 10 mana. With a 4/9 stat line it gets a huge boost from Lady. Generating 3/3s really helps keep Odd Paladin off the board because you go wide and trade off everything they play.
  4. Lady in White is so important to the deck that I generally keep it in the mulligan, but be careful with when you play it. A 6 mana 5/5 is a tempo hit that you often can’t afford especially against aggro. You generally need to play taunts, scaleworm + heal, or AOE on 6 rather than Lady, and then play Lady once you have some semblance of board control, or at the very least will take minimal damage. If you can follow her up with an AOE or big taunt on the next turn that helps a lot.
  5. Mass Dispel is strong against cubelock and various Odd Paladin stuff (cauldron, level up, raid leader, etc.) plus every bit of draw helps in this deck.
  6. 12 attack grizzlies make the world go round.

I’m a long time lurker, but this is my first time making a deck guide. I’m having a ton of fun piloting this deck so far. I’d be happy to suggest replacement cards if you are missing something, and would be interested in hearing your thoughts on improvements to this list. Thanks for reading!
