Mulligans

Been trying to find a middle ground in order to be able to fight against the variations of Galakron Shaman but as well as Priest/Rogue/PirateWarr. So far this has been my best control deck I came up with for DoD. It completely destroys Rogues and Priests and does pretty well against Shamans. So far I stand at relative strong winning percentage at 55% with 61 games.

Against Rogue and Pirate Warrior

try to mulligan for 

  1. Town Crier
  2. Firetree Witchdoctor 
  3. Evil Quartermaster
  4. Brawl / Warpath

Against Priest

  1. Firetree Witchdoctor
  2. Smolderthorn Lancer

Our key winning condition here is Archivist Elysiana, be mindful of how you remove enemy minions, priests are really strong, they can easily outmaneuver us with Galakron hero power, better be safe than sorry. Avoid hitting the enemy Priest at the face, we play for the long run rather for the chip damage. Priests that see you skip your first turn, might conceal their Quest in order to receive damage.

Against Shaman

  1. Town Crier
  2. Firetree Witchdoctor

In general against this match-up you really need to keep your hard removals for times that the Shaman has flooded his/hers board and always be mindful that he/she might be holding Galakron at hand. The Shaman can easily place us against the wall in matter of 1 turn. Keeping a Brawl or a Plague Wrath can spell victory over defeat. That being said, sometimes, you don’t have the necessary tools to keep up with the enemy Shaman, that is OK. Stay patient and wait, a flooded board with 2/1 still hurts but don’t be greedy on using your Warpath, you can take the damage.

General Notes:

Emberscale Drake is predominantly our strongest defensive mechanism. Using War Master Voone with 2 at hand means you can get up to 20 armor in 3 or 4 turns, that is pretty okish.

Several minions where cut for this deck in order to include the theme of the Dragons. Very easily you can keep the structure of the deck and include cards that are not limited to:

  1. Dyn-O-Matic
  2. Zilliax
  3. Suppercollider
  4. Dr. Boom
  5. Sn1p-Sn4p

and few others.
