How to use Zephrys the Great โ€“ Tips & Tricks

That’s very true, Zephrys lethals can be scary and are super consistent. The problem is that Aggro decks doesn’t want to build a singleton deck because of consistency issue.

I’ve actually seen someone running Tempo Rogue with Zephrys, but it was a regular build. Zephrys was there as just a 3/2 in the early game and then potential lethal in the late game, especially after Myra’s. Is it the right approach? Not sure, but it’s definitely interesting to see him being used in a regular, aggressive deck.

Zephrys Hotfix - August 8, 2019

I don’t think it’s necessarily a bug. It probably did recognize that opponent has a weapon, but it was a 0/3 weapon – so basically useless. But since it doesn’t see card effects, it didn’t know that it isn’t played to attack with.

They just added Doomsayer as the only exception, but it didn’t recognize ANY card effect until now.

Tavern Brawl - Your Standard Brawliseum (Saviors of Uldum Edition) - Best Decks for the Uldum Brawliseum

I wouldn’t craft anything yet, the meta will change very quickly and decks that are good now might not be good in a week, after it stabilizes. Rewards aren’t worth potentially wasting a lot of Dust on cards that you won’t play soon.

Not to mention that since most of players are running unoptimized decks, you can still get a nice score just using the cards you’ve opened (or even playing a full meta deck from last expansion).

Nah, that was a pretty average reward. Sometimes you’d get a little less Gold and some Dust or a Golden Common/Rare instead. But I’d say that it was neither lucky or unlucky.

She gets all of the effects combined! (other than stats, those are not added up completely – just the highest Attack / highest Health possible with her forms).

Big Spell Mage Theorycraft Deck List โ€“ Saviors of Uldum โ€“ August 2019

Violet Spellsword would need some kind of Taunt / extra effect to be viable. You rarely have more than 3 spells in your hand on curve, and the card’s value diminishes as the game goes by (because overstatted minions are most powerful on curve).

I love the term “Sandwitched” ๐Ÿ˜€ But you just get a bunch of 5 mana minions then. Which is still not bad.

Zephrys the Great Guide - Everything you need to know about the best Hearthstone card ever

And by the way, I know that the premise of the comment is wrong (because of the only Basic/Classic cards thing) you COULD play Reno before drawing your other copy :p Your deck would still be full of singleton cards, and it doesn’t count what you have in your hand.

As for the previous comment about choice – technically in every case there is a “best” card to get, but in most of cases even player won’t know which one it is (because he doesn’t know opponent’s exact deck list, hand, order of draws, whatever random cards HE might discover etc.). You can also say exactly the same thing about plays each turn – even if you have 10 different plays, there is always THE best one to make (the one that will lead to the highest win %). But do players always make them? Of course not, that’s why skilled players have a higher win rate – because they pick the best plays more often (but still not always, because even the best players in the world can’t always predict what their opponents have / will do).

I do think that it’s more than an illusion of choice and skill will play a significant part in picking the best one based on your meta/game knowledge. And skill will also play a significant part in putting yourself / your opponent into situation where Zephrys will offer you the perfect card. It’s easy to pick that Fireball once your opponent is a 6, but you might start playing in a way to put your opponent down into lethal range a few turns earlier and planning for it ahead ๐Ÿ™‚

Zoo Priest Theorycraft Deck List โ€“ Saviors of Uldum โ€“ August 2019

You see, fun is very subjective, a lot of players find Zoo playstyle very fun and doesn’t like to run those slow, Combo decks that Priest usually has.

I would actually like Priest to finally have a viable faster deck, the class deserves some break from all of the grindy Control and Combo decks ๐Ÿ™‚

Taunt Warrior Theorycraft Deck List โ€“ Saviors of Uldum โ€“ August 2019

This is a common misconception. Many decks don’t need a flashy “win condition”. Like, when you build an Aggro deck, you don’t have a “win condition” – your win condition is to rush the opponent down and kill them. Similarly, Midrange decks rarely have a specific, single “win condition”, most of the time they just want to perform their game plan efficiently and be able to adapt to the matchup they face (by going faster vs Control/Combo and slower vs Aggro). And by all accounts, this is a Midrange deck. Pumping up a full hand of Taunts and then overwhelming your opponents with overstatted minions is the win condition. Drawing lots of cards with Battle Rage and copying a big, damaged minion with Mercenary is the win condition. Dealing 10 with Grom is also a win condition. And of course, you run, Dr. Boom, Mad Genius, which is definitely a “win condition”.

And please, be more patient next time… We’ve got so many messages and comments right after the giveaway has ended. It was midnight PDT, Sunday. Remember that a) people have their own lives and b) we can operate in a completely different time zone than you live.

You can redeem the pre-order codes all the way until launch, so you still have a lot of time. We initially wanted to run the giveaway 24h longer, but then decided to cut it down so we can distribute codes without a rush and so you have enough time to use them.

Each of the tickets participants got (for doing tasks like following on Twitter etc.) had their “seed” number (which was basically the entry number). Then gleam randomly rolled (using random.org) 10 times from 1 to X where X was the highest seed number. Then they’ve matched the numbers with participants and knew who win. Here’s a more detailed version of how gleam drawing works: https://gleam.io/docs/competitions/drawing-winners

In other words, completely random :p

Taunt Warrior Theorycraft Deck List โ€“ Saviors of Uldum โ€“ August 2019

Depends on the matchup I’d say. If you face Aggro/Tempo, then getting more on the board early can be very important, and 2x 2/3 Taunt with a 3/3 on T3 can be big (even better if you hit +2/+2 and make it 2x 4/5 – but that’s like the best case scenario). Once you get ahead, you can dictate your trades etc. and stay ahead because of it. In slower matchups I’d definitely save Mercenary for a bigger play, though.

You might be right, but it’s something I’ll definitely want to test out ๐Ÿ™‚

Taunt Warrior Theorycraft Deck List โ€“ Saviors of Uldum โ€“ August 2019

By the way, OG, have you considered Injured Tol’vir instead of Gnome? It’s 2/3, but synergizes with Bloodsworn Mercenary and Battle Rage instead. T2 Tol’vir into T3 Mercenary could be a really nice curve, even better if you land Handbuff on T1 (might be worth to drop it so early for the tempo push). And later you can drop it and immediately draw an extra card from Battle Rage.

Taunt Warrior Theorycraft Deck List โ€“ Saviors of Uldum โ€“ August 2019

I don’t think that those two would go well together. If you’re going on Taunts, you want to go all in on Taunts. The more you play, the better your handbuff cards become. The difference between buffing let’s say 4 and 6 Taunts on average with those is huge.

In order to fit the Quest package, you would need to remove quite a lot of cards. You can’t just put in Quest and 1-2 weapons – you need at least 5+ weapons to finish it consistently (maybe even 6+ or 7+ if there will be more weapon removal in the meta). While Boom is just a single card, and I’d say that it fits into a Midrange deck very well. It’s not such a big value generator as Rexxar, but the Hero Powers are still amazing in the mid/late game, mostly for the extra tempo (like 3x 1/1 with Rush, or 3 damage for 2 mana).

Quest Control Shaman Theorycraft - Saviors of Uldum - August 2019

Yes, that’s how it works right now (I’m also using the wrong time zone actually), but I just didn’t see any option to set it according to the user’s own time zone anywhere.

But you’re right, I can ask devs about it ๐Ÿ™‚
