As someone who plays (close to) only battlegrounds, this is a really bad change!
With the way the (re)rolling of quests works, it can take up to 3-4 rerolls before you have weeklys that *can* be completed in battlegrounds! So you maybe only have 3-4 days for one of these, if it’s the “win 15 games” one, have fun trying to squeeze about 30 games in the remaining few days.
And they still haven’t changed the “spend x mana” one to “spend x mana or gold”, which would be a trivial change to make this work in battlegrounds. 🙁

While I can understand it a bit why they did this, I don’t like it that no part of the chain can be completed in battlegrounds.

It would be *so* convenient if the removed or changed BG minions were linked – I can’t remember the names (and even if, I use the German client 🙂 ).

I’m guessing the quests will be available for all temporarily and be removed later for all but the new hero, just like with the Darkmoon prizes (and maybe be available later again for special occasions, just as the prizes, too).

Way to kill the mood for F2P battlegrounds.

I’m far from completing the event. How far? 140 honor so far, and that’s just because the holiday special quests (which forced me to play modes that earn honor) and Nozdormu.
So while my horde soul is hurt a bit, it’ll be nice to get the alliance faction leader card without completing the event.

I’m playing plenty of battlegrounds. I might’ve even played mercenaries (not PVP there though) if it would count for that event. But I stopped playing even for the 5 ranked wins for the card background when they nerfed the base DH deck.
I wasn’t ever interested in arena or duels, playing those only for some special events (when it requires like 3-5 games maybe, not 750! like this time).

You keep writing “we get the opposing faction leader at the end of the honor event”. Is that really what is meant or does one have to reach the end of the honor quest chain to get him?

I’m sure it’s just because nobody told you yet, but, putting up this post including “New Mechanics” in the announcement and then not explaining the new mechanic is a bit lacking. 😛

oh, I have to correct myself: as MAGE it didn’t, it does as warrior. Still bad.

Especially bad: It does NOT count for the special quest to play 3 games as one of the classes you can chose in that brawl.

Already gave up on the mode. The endless grind turned me away.

While I don’t “need” them (I mostly play BGs), I bought them anyway, nice gesture getting some again for just gold instead of $$$.

Oh, I’ll try it for sure – they’ll probably hand out lots of stuff for the other game modes, too, just to get us to at least try it. 😀
