Top 2 Chalkboard

General Information

  • You get one Standard card pack for winning your first game this week.
  • It’s the fifth time we see this Brawl (including Standard version). Last time we’ve seen it on January 11, 2023 (May 16, 2018 for Standard).
  • It’s a PvP Brawl.
  • The Brawl’s format is Wild.
  • It’s a Constructed Brawl. You pick a class and build your own (albeit small) deck.
  • This Brawl has inspired the (ultimately more common) Top 3 and Battle of the Bans Brawls.
  • Gameplay itself has no extra rules – the only rule comes from deck building. You pick only two cards and you get 15 copies of each one of them in your deck. Which means that you can build the ultimate synergistic decks very easily.

Top 2 Decks & Card Chocies

Used Pogo Hopper and SI:7 Extortion for 1 mana draw and removal in one card
    Easy win ๐Ÿ™‚

    Warlock
    Soularium + Fist of Jaraxus

    Mechwarper + Evolve

Don’t know why nobody has mentioned this yet. Holy Wrath + Molten Giant, you only need to get lucky once. Even if your health is low it counts as 25 damage before the Molten Giant’s mana is changed.

Innervate with Gorillabot A-3 or Elise Starseeker consistently beat mill decks but performed horribly vs Warrior Taunt decks.

Fiery Bat and Webspinner did well but couldn’t get over the hump vs the Mage Iceblock deck.

Found a way to beat Ice Block + Fireball/Molten Giant… And any other non-OTK combos (seen none so far)! Even Yoggs and 10-mana minion decks!

    **FORBIDDEN HEALING + EQUALITY**

Start by spamming Silver Hand Recruits and go for face. Just burn equality for Fireball mages (or other non-minion combos) as you won’t need those. Keep healing when necessary (don’t go lower than 14 health), and win by fatigue (ice block does not work for those who don’t know, because secrets don’t activate on your own turn). For giants or other big minions, use Equality and let them fill their boards with 1-attack minions (so you’ll get 7 damage max from minions per turn). Thereafter, keep drawing until they’re fatigued. You’ll be able to easily heal 20 health/round with Forbidden Healing ๐Ÿ˜€

Works like magic, but can be tedious and boring. Just pray that your opponent realizes early enough that they’ll lose and concede. Easily >90% win-rate otherwise! =)

Started using Faerie Dragon + Elemental Destruction
Does incredibly well against druid mill and mechwarper combos, which is most of what I play against
Gives you a fair chance to win against most other decks in this meta…which is crazy to say for a tavern brawl
Definitely one of the most fun in a long time

    Priest:

    Power Word: Glory
    +
    Holy fire.

This stops almost all minionsdecks and survives Mill/ice Block!

Any class: Grimscale Oracle + Murloc Tidecaller.
Quite consistent to win on round 3.

Shaman: Farsight and questing adventurer was a lot of fun.. Basically you need 3 mana to start and then you draw free cards

    Rogue: Sap & lorewalker cho
Give them their minions back/fill their hands with sap ๐Ÿ™‚ + if they have spells use them against them (though they can use your sap against u too)
This isn’t that good, but’s it’s a lot of fun and confusing for your opponent ๐Ÿ™‚

    Druid
    Innervate + Deathwing 2.0
Innervate + Yogg (shits n’ giggles)

    Paladin
A Light in the Darkness + Aldor Peacekeeper
    Muster for Battle + Quatermaster
    Vilefin Inquisitor + Murloc Warleader
    Vilefin Inquisitor/Tinyfin + Old Murk-Eye

    Shaman
    Unbound Elemental + Lightning Bolt
Totem Golem + Master of Evolution
    Dust Devil + Ancestral Spirit

    Mage
    Ice block + Fireball
    Cult Sorcerer + Arcane Blast

    Hunter
Brave Archer + On the Hunt/Annoy-o-Tron

    Priest
    Power word: Glory + Mindblast

    Rogue
    Eviscerate + Deadly Poison

    Warloc
    Possessed Villager + Darkshire Councilman
    Curse of Rafaam + Doomsayer/Darkbomb
    Hobgoblin + Possessed Villager

    Any
    Disciple of C’Tun +Twin Emperor Vek’lor
    Bluegill Warrior + Murloc Warleader
Echoing Ooze + Seal of Champions
    Mechwarper + Demolisher
    Alarm-o-Bot + Endless Possibilities

I tried to include mostly decks that i hadn’t heard yet and i think these few are very fun and interesting to play but can still win you the game most of the time. will probably have more later :p

  28. IBlackHammer
    May 12, 2016 at 8:14 am

I went with Mage using Mana Wyrm + Frost bolt. Insane synergie and frostbolt is a great removal/freeze

“Burn them down priest: Mind Blast, Leper Gnome” had no Chance

      May 12, 2016 at 8:04 pm

      frost nova mana addict
can kill giants, or just freeze them until they go away
leave opponent at 20 health until they burn their own ice blocks, they wont be able to burn themselves down before they run out of ice block, the second ice block isnt played, otk them with 4 to 5 mana wraiths and a few frost novas. won against immortal giant deck 100% of the time. also beats mechunter by frost nova and face damage. loses to board clear like equality pyro paladin.
remember only one ice block can be played. a mill deck would shit on moltenblock

    Innervate+Coldight
    10-0 Really Fast
Really OP. Try to get at least 2 innervate and one Coldight w/o coin or 2 Coldight 2 innervate with coin. Try to get at least 5-6 on to the board turn 1.
Most will concede at that point, but if they don’t. Do it again turn 2
