Mulligans
Rogue
Hey guys! I’m SIRIVS, and this is my first deck ever to publish, hope you gonna like it.
The deck has similarities with other non Miracle or Reno Rogues, but with some unique card choices, wich i’m going to explain later. The base was Kitsel’s Shadowcaster Rogue deck, but this version is significantly different from that.
The general strategy is to try to keep the opponent’s board clear, while having some small minions and bursting the opponent slowly. This deck is very reactive and situational, so the games won’t be the same, and you have to consider every possibility before playing a card (that’s the fun part). If you need huge burst, you have Ragnaros the Firelord , Arcane Giant and Edwin VanCleef, if you need a backup plam, you have Yogg-Saron, Hope's End.
Try to mulligan very heavily for Backstab and SI:7 Agent. If you draw Preparation, Journey Below or Undercity Huckster , keep it. If you expect big health early minions (Shaman, Druid), keep Eviscerate, Sap, maybe Shadow Strike. Against shaman, you can keep Bloodmage Thalnos, if you have Backstab. Against aggro paladin, you can keep Fan of Knives. Replace everything else.
Card choices:
Journey Below: This might be surprising, since there is no deathrattle sinergy in the deck, but this is still a very high value card. It gives a possibility not to pass the first turn, and the versatility of the discover mechanic makes it useful no matter when you draw it, making it a better option than Swashburglar. Most of the time you want to go for the ones you are already having in the deck, especially Tomb Pillager.
Sap : I found it dead too many times, so just cut one. Works better for me.
Undercity Huckster : Good card, but if you want to try something, this is the place where you can cut.
Xaril, Poisoned Mind : Although it’s too slow in miracle, Xaril is insane in this deck. The shadowstep-like toxin has so many targets (SI7, Xaril, Skulker, Caster), that it becomes almost the most powerful one. Maybe the stealth toxin is the least useable, but still decent. Also fuels Yogg and the Giant.
Shadowcaster : One of the most interesting cards in the game. Used to run two, but it was too situational, one works better for me. Best targets are Rag, Sylva, and Edwin, but Skulker, Xaril, Thalnos and Azure Drake are also incredible.
Sylvanas Windrunner and Ragnaros the Firelord : No real synergy, but they are the highest value legendaries in the game. Rag is your most important finisher in this deck, and sylvanas always messes up your opponent’s plans.
Sprint : The deck relies heavily on having a big hand and multiple choices, especially the finishing, so one sprint is essential. Also best target for prep.
Yogg-Saron, Hope's End : The plan B, most of the time you don’t use him, but when you find yourself behind, he’s always there to turn around the game. Since in these cases you need immediate effect, he is much better, than N’zoth.
Arcane Giant : Around turn 7 this guy’s cost is easily reduced under 7, wich makes it high value, but before that, he is useless. Thats why i run only 1. Also works as a spell-counter for Yogg.
Whatever you’re missing, the best replacements are a second Sap, or a Violet Teacher, except for Yogg, he can be replaced with N'Zoth, The Corruptor, though that version is much weaker. You can also try Barnes, Unearthed Raptor, maybe Questing Adventurer, or some healing/taunt.
Note: The meta right now is highly experimental, but it’s gonna be more aggro soon, i’m pretty sure. If face hunter and the discard zoolock will be a thing, this deck will be significantly weaker. Also keep in mind, that we’re losing Dark Iron Skulker soon, so I would wait with the crafting.
