Mulligans

Hey,
This is my first deck here. As a big friend of controldecks especially as warrior I found myself in a bad spot at the start of this expansion. So I’ve thought of a way to deal with the heavy aggrodecks and somehow be able to not get outvalued by jadedruid. The answer was simple. In the current meta most dmg comes from boardpressence, making taunts ridiculously valuable on the other hand controlwarrior usually lacks the ability to apply preassure on the enemy which we now can do due to the fact that with lacking handdamage we can heavily use our live to clear boards.

Still testing alot. Was thinking about putting in Alexstrasza instead of Ysera but with Entomb, ExecuteShield Slam Mulch rarely seen on Ladder these days she is a wincondition on her own.

Sadly I currently don’t have the time to climb higher ranks or even go to legend. Still this Deck is very versatile and has quite a nice amount of winconditions against the current metadecks.

Overall Mulligan for Hobart Grapplehammer and Fiery War Axe and use your healthpool to establish bordcontrole as the handdamage is very limited in current meta.

Against aggrodecks your taunts should do the trick, consider going face with Alley Armorsmith to gain armor without having to take damage with it.

Against slower decks try to tank as much damage as possible with your face and go face with your minions to be able to abuse your huge lifepool effectively. I’m not going to lie, jadedruid still is hard, but it is doable.

Cards to consider:
Alexstrasza Varian Wrynn

      Faceless manipulator or deathwing.

I don’t know about the faceless manipulator. I think faceless shambler is a better idea, cause the taunts are basically what allows you to trade so offensively with your weapons. A second bloodhoofbrave is another idea, haven’t tried it yet though, it obviously shoves you into a faster direction. Try it and tell me.

I knew, but you usually don’t need a 2nd bigdrop. i doubt it will improve your chances vs jadedruid by alot and in every single other matchup you ve got more than enough value in your deck all you need to do is survive.you usually cannot copy soggoth cause he ahs taunt, 95% of the decks are more aggressive than you soggoth won’t have enough life for a copy and a 4/12 taunt is usually more worth than a 2nd ysera cause it s plain to slow. If the enemy is ignoring the first ysera he is already in facemode meaning the 2nd ysera is useless 4/12 taunt though is a huuuge defensive.
But, as mentioned, I haven’t tested it with manipulator yet (have to craft it to be honest but i need it anyways) and I will.

Fool’s Bane and a second Bloodhoof Brave are working great for me.

I haven’t tried it, but I’d sign that. Even though you re obviously loosing on value, your replacement gives a nice tempoimprovement to the deck, what is often more important than value. BUT you mustn’t forget. Everyone is running ooze these days. The brass knuckles are a high value target for Oozes, which kind of protect your gorehowl this way.
