Mulligans

General Mulligans

The ideas of the mulligans is to keep alive long enough to break your Twig and draw any of the combo starters; Vanguard, Guardian, Umbra, or Oakheart. We all know how excellent of a life line Spreading Plague can be and with proper armor creation through DK powers and a well timed Armored Scales you can stay afloat long enough to bring a ridiculous board crashing down.

The 0 Atk Taunts are there to ensure that Oakheart only pulls the Drakkari to maximize the power of the Dragonhatcher. By coining in the Twig and attacking every turn you can break that thing on turn 7 and by then the odds are good you have some key pieces to work some serious magic. Twig giving your hero power 2 attack is nothing to shake a stick at either.

Dad humor. Boom.

This deck is all about BIG swings with Recruitment focusing on two main combos.

Combo 1:

Umbra in play, then summon Silver Vanguard—> Deathrattle Recuits Grizzled Guardian–> Deathrattle Recriuts TWO 5/1 Cursed Disciples —–> Deathrattle dumps two MORE 5/1 Revenants. That’s a full board of 7 minions ๐Ÿ˜€

3/4, 3/3, 3/5Taunt, 5/1, 5/1, 5/1, 5/1. Yes of course most AOE’s would wreak some havoc on the low stats but then you get two more Disciples, two more cost 4’s or less from Veteran, and ANOTHER cost 8 from the Guardian. It’s the combo gift that keeps on giving.

Combo 2: Simply playing Oakheart.
1Atk -> Drakkari
2Atk -> Dragonhatcher
3Atk -> Grizzled Guardian or Silver Vanguard
The Drakkari will trigger the Hatcher twice which will bring out Ysera and the Sleepy Dragon to protect the board. This dumps multiple threats and with the Guardian cleared from Deck Your Vanguard’s death will then only pull either Ironbark or the Lich King.
With proper management of armor creation and timing on the Twig you can do evil things with this deck idea. Not all of the legendaries need to be exact; Lich King is ideal with Drakkari pulling double DK cards but he can still be swapped out for another Ironbark or a Charged Devilsaur (which would lose the No Charge Battlecry). Same goes for Ysera; Malygos or another hard hitting Dragon would work just fine.

I don’t have enough Dust to craft all the big bad boys in this deck but theoretically it is incredibly fun to play. I’ve tinkered with an Ixlid, Oakheart, Malygos, Twig, and Pestilent version and that is sill a riot to play.

I’m interested to see thoughts on this because I’m gun shy on crafting Umbra before seeing more of the cards coming in Witchwood.
